That was his drivers license photo that the newspapers circulated pre-mug shot.

This wasn't a mistake. A mistake is getting a girl pregnant is high school or catching a DUI rap. This was a piece of shite murdering someone.

That simply isn't true and is impossible to know without being made aware of the facts of the case.
Look, it's your opinion, that's fine.
Im giving you mine based on my understanding of the building and knowing a significant amount about the case. Though, like I said, the strength of the case is irrelevant at this point.
It's simple: if Cardell Hayes got 25 for doing what he did, he has zero shot at getting less than 30 for this, unless, like I said, he wraps it early. The racial difference will be in the back of the minds of those making the decisions.
The suggestion of 5 or 10 is laughable. The DA would take it to trial and lose before that occurred, no matter how weak the case is. And fwiw, Ward has almost no shot at trial.

Do people convicted in Louisiana have to serve the full amount of the sentence?
Posted on 6/7/18 at 2:22 pm to TheCaterpillar
Yes, will be a manslaughter plea. Maybe 25 (I have my doubts) if in in the next 60 days, 30 most likely if before motions, assuming the family doesn't pitch a fit. 35-40 if between motions and trial.

I trust your opinion.
And what it tells me is that Garrett should flee. Not tomorrow, today.

Manslaughter is a crime of violence, so he'd serve 75%.
Murder would be flat.

Yeah, its way different and this appears to be an attack.
However, his family can afford good attorneys so they will certainly try to make it look like a fight gone wrong.

If anyone in here was looking at 25-30 behind bars for beating an old black man to death (this matters in prison), would you not flee?
I'd be gone. No fricking chance I'd stick around.
