Guess we know why he's wearing that durag. Seems like a sad story. NOLA just keeping it real?

quote:

A teenage boy killed in a shooting in the Florida area of New Orleans Monday night (June 26) was identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner's office as 17-year-old Renard Matthews. Matthews was shot in the head on Independence Street near the intersection of Tonti Street around 9:40 p.m., according to New Orleans police. Melvin Morgan, a neighbor who was at the scene Monday said he was stunned to hear of Matthews' death.

Morgan said he had seen Matthews just over three hours earlier, and the two spoke while the teen was walking his dog.

"A nice young man," Morgan said.

Safe to assume the fatal shot was to the body, and not the head?

Damn. Ol boy leaves the house one time and New Orleans kills him. That place is brutal.
A Cop shot him.

A recent transfer from EBR Sheriff's department to NOPD.

Claims he was aiming at the dog.

Is this true?

Hard to understand any motive behind why a kid who was a homebody would be murdered.

That dude looks alive and had great taste in snacks/soft drinks.

I know this is real though because I saw a TV segment on the lady on the 2nd page with the yellow scarf and they had about three family members saying that she would want to be remembered in a happy way, but they were like dancing and crying at the same time. It was so strange. And that lady looked dead...though they did a good job of propping her up. Strangeville.

Obviously he wasn’t a homebody. Someone shot him for a reason
