According to PBS.org and Dr. Henry Louis Gates, between 1525 and 1866, in the entire history of the slave trade to the New World, according to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, 12.5 million Africans were shipped to the New World. Only about 388,000 were shipped to North America. That’s right: a tiny percentage.

Today in Africa there are an estimated 9.2 million people living in modern day slavery.

The biggest slaves these days are white men. They pay the most taxes, actually raise their kids, get married, are hated for nothing, and they’re passed over for jobs and positions for less qualified morons. It’s sad.

A new study suggests that a million or more European Christians were enslaved by Muslims in North Africa between 1530 and 1780 – a far greater number than had ever been estimated before.

Davis, by contrast, has calculated that between 1 million and 1.25 million European Christians were captured and forced to work in North Africa from the 16th to 18th centuries

But from 1500 to 1650, when trans-Atlantic slaving was still in its infancy, more white Christian slaves were probably taken to Barbary than black African slaves to the Americas, according to Davis.

Yes. Slavery has been a fact of life for almost the entirety of human history. I won't make an apologetic for it, but it is nothing to be ashamed of - particularly because it has not existed for 155 years (in America).

Trying telling that to a certain group of americans today......It's so obvious it hurts. Also They think the police should be abolished too, yet every country in the world has police
