Every fricking year, December is a bullshite work month. frick trying to accomplish anything. fricking trying to resolve work emergencies. Everyone’s fricking checked out and most people are on vacation. Leaving anyone trying to act responsible with 10 pounds of shite in a 2 pound bag.
So frick it, let’s just cancel work in December. Do what Europe does with August.

That's what they get for not allowing my vacation days to roll over to the next year.

My favorite are the people going on vacation trying to cram everything in the day before they go out of the office and have to hand off to the people that aren't but have been reminding everyone for weeks of their upcoming time off.

Sounds like everyday of the year when dealing with people that work from home. Hope they had fun.
My company is announcing next week that starting 1/6/2025 we are full time back in the office 5 days a week. Merry Christmas mother f’ers!

I wish.
After everyone deals with their crazy arse families at Thanksgiving, I’ve got a solid caseload until insurance deductibles reset in January.

I learned my lesson last year and already took off the 30th and 31st, put my request in during February.

I’m slammed at work right now with end of the year budget projects for industrial clients.

I used December holidays to clean up email, my desk, organize etc.
Catch up on tasks that were put off....
I enjoyed the quiet time....

This. Signature line saying “ok imma be out starting dec 16….” Never fails, dec 15: “can you return this in 3 days when it normally takes you 2 weeks?”

You're the pussy that sounds like he used all of his vacation up too soon.

I do always feel bad for the billing people this time of the year. End of the month and end of the year together and they’re not very jolly.

I love working in December. All the projects we have pretty much stop right before Thanksgiving because almost all of our clients don't do shite during the holidays.

I came offshore for a week, taking two weeks off starting Wednesday then my normal 3 weeks off. I don't understand why everyone is staring at me in my pajamas, I am not going outside for shite.

Is it that difficult to treat high performers differently and allow them to work from home, while forcing the underperformers and slackers back in?
It should be pretty obvious by now which employees are capable. That guy who doesn't respond timely to email and phone calls, time to get back. That aside, daily work logs + accountability makes for good WFH employees.
But no... ALL EMPLOYEES must have butts in seats 5 days a week. Are you paying them to be there or paying them to work?
