It's a form of lobbying and political appeasement.

They know Republican and Conservative legislators are not going to regulate, control or punish them. Economic liberties and free market capitalism are primary foundations of the political right.

But liberal Democrats want to do those things. They want absolute power and control. And they are hostile towards wealthy corporations with inverted pyramid compensation structures. And they also hate companies that "impact" the environment, which is about 98% of them. And they're also antagonistic towards unhealthy foods (like sugary cereals, soft drinks, heavily processed items, etc).

So the safe play here is to embrace woke-ness, contribute to liberal causes and pretend to believe this crap. If you want to know where these people really stand, take a look at where they send their kids to school, who cleans their toilets or what they pay their low level employees. They don't believe any of this shite, they're just afraid of what will happen if Democrats ever decide to act on their campaign rhetoric.

But the Bud Light fiasco has unleashed a new force - the popular reaction. If consumers boycott your product, it doesn't matter what politicians do. Democrats could impose a new beer tax or raise the drinking age to 22 and it wouldn't even compare to the carnage that tranny can caused.

Yes. I overlooked Target's shite for years because I hated going to Walmart. But it's at a point where you cannot ignore the bullshite any longer. It started with just pride shite in a little section then it was rainbows and gay shite on every single shirt they sold for little boys. It's disgusting and blatant. I love that Canada is so unhinged with wokeness now - the large majority of which is a US export - and in part it’s the result of the constant need for Canada to feel more refined and less backwards than the US. Amazing contradiction.
