Yes we do. Are you assuming people don't have their own strategies for mitigation?

There's no rational reason to not check your ammo. None. Baldwin ran a shoddy operation.

Its easy to spot non firearms people here.

Yes he should’ve checked that it was safe but also he was handed it by an expert he trusts and has probably done the same hundreds of time so felt safe.

But he still shouldn't have pointed the gun at someone and pulled the trigger if he didn't want to kill them.

Are we to assume that he wanted to kill her and wound the other person?

Absolutely.

Did you actually think that was some gotcha? Or is this just a deflection from the attack on your precious pop culture?

With all the weapons in all the movies we watch, do you honestly think these guns aren’t fired towards crew all the time? It may be against protocol, but If someone is trying to get a good angle in a scene, you know it happens. The only reason anyone gives a shite about this is bc of Baldwin’s politics.

This argument is played out.

Everyone is set in their stance.

There are those that believe that Baldwin broke the most basic rule of handling a firearm, and those who think it is unreasonable to expect actors to follow the most basic rule of handling a firearm.

Here comes the fanboys.

"See, Alec didn't do anything I pretend other people are doing!"

You never ever aim a firearm, loaded or not, at another person period.

If this is happening in Hollywood, they are bigger retards than I though.

Who the frick down voted this?

Would you please explain why this is not accurate?

8 down votes?
No explanation?
My 7 year old tells me to check the chamber after a hunt to make sure it's unloaded. I constantly ask them after I drop the magazine if we are safe and good to go.

Years of doing this everytime has them being tested.

I would do this with any celebrity.

If this had happened to any normal, non-royal citizen, they would be charged with a crime, as we have seen many times before.

Celebrities get a pass.

Well, find a right wing supporting movie star that killed someone this week so we can shite on them too.

Do you regularly point guns at people?

You're describing infinite individual "plans" as opposed to a set procedure across an industry. Not comparable.

Some people have more restrictive procedures than the industry standards. Most people have far less restrictive procedures.

quote:

There's no rational reason to not check your ammo.

There was supposed to be a check, just before it was in his possession. Now there is a debate whether it was supposed to be without any ammo or blanks. We don't have the details to know exactly what procedures were required and which were violated.

But it's very reasonable in many of these scenarios based on proper procedure and industry practices where the actor should never check the ammo, especially if that involves removing the ammo from the gun. The actor touching ammo is strictly prohibited for a reason.

quote:

Baldwin ran a shoddy operation.

His armorer did. And you're describing his role as producer now, not actor. That's different than his role as actor (that led to the trigger being pulled). You have to be very careful in how you are describing his roles and responsibilities.

But, in any event, Baldwin the producer should NEVER have been directly involved in anything related to the gun.

His armorer did.

1) Who was the producer AND employer?
2) Who aimed and fired a weapon directly at someone breaking protocols?
3) Who had previous incidents on the set and evidently didn't fix them?
4) Who hired this unskilled "armorer?"

Thanks
