They are going to have trouble finding a new occupant. The overhead of that huge behometh must be crazy.

Needs to be repurposed. They have a very nice event room on the top floor with a stage and full bar. The place needs to be an event venue and a bar with good music versus the shite they play there. The lady they had booking events was awful at her job and lost a lot of customers.

Bank bought the building at auction last month. Owner is drowning in debt.

Hopefully someone buys it and does a good job with it. Just gotta work out parking issue.

They used to have an $8 grouper sammich that was decent back in the day. $8 million is a lot of grouper sammiches, though. Especially when they stopped selling them after the construction of mt Everest

I had buffalo shrimp there a week ago. Wasn't bad. $20 charbroiled oysters weren't worth it though.

I have never had worse service in my entire life

We had a group of 8

It took over an hour for us to get entrees

Burgers were plated without fries, when fries come with the burger

Got a Ceaser salad without dressing

It was a disaster

I will miss the BBQ shrimp and gouda grits. The menu sucked except for this.

Ate lunch there once. It was like a 4 hour affair. Just miserable service, high prices, overbuilt (although very very nice), and absolutely no parking at all. I just don't see how anyone thought that could have made it.

Good. Every time I went in that joint to watch an LSU football game the Tigers lost.

Original plans for the rebuild had something like 80 parking spaces with plans for more at a later date. Guess they blew their budget on the building.

How do you host any decent size event there with that parking space?

They never owned the land the extra parking was proposed on.

They never even finalized the land lease where those parking spots were going to go.

The whole thing is a shady deal

Why would the parish allow them to build such a building in the first place? I want to be on the zoning board for St. Tammany, because I suspect those guys make a fortune off of backdoor deals.

There were some consistent rumors that the zoning got slid in without input from the locals. I know the neighbors to that place raised hell every weekend.

I am not a NIMBY person but when they build something like that yards away from a private residence, you know something is up.

New owner needs to buy out three or four houses across the street and turn them into parking. That should only cost another couple of Mil...
