There are 10000x as many who do bus tours and spend no money in the local restaurants or hotels outside of the central tourist areas of major cities.
They do, however, cause the supplanting of interesting small shops, art galleries, etc. with Asian-tourist catering junk shops in great towns all over the world.

Go to Europe. Nothing but Chinese tourists everywhere now that they have a middle class, all really within the past 10 years or so.
If you go to the Louvre there will be about 300 chinese between you and the Mona Lisa.
I had guides in both Paris and Barcelona tell me they have had to start learning Chinese because the influx is so huge.

Surprising that an authoritarian regimes allows nearly 150 million of it's citizens to travel abroad each year. Only 2nd to American tourists in money spent. Though I'm sure many millions more( especially dissidents) are banned.
