yes i posted their 4pm monday advisory above.

here is the Monday 4pm cone with where the storm actually was in future advisories

meaning basically they didn’t see this lil maneuver:

other than that right hand turn, her entire path through Louisiana was inside the cone 48 hours out.

I’m running a 9500 with basically same setup but in addition to a water well; gives the a generator a good kick when the pump comes on.

A little over 5 gallons gave me 10 1/2 hours which I think is really good

appreciate the kind response. half their eye is outside their cone. you're being a bit generous with the yellow dot. any case, they get 190 miles of coast cone and half the eye missed the cone. a decent bit of that yellow line track too is completely outside the cone as well.

Post storm report from Cut Off:

Storm center got within 30 miles of my location. With the large eye, that was close enough to get part of the eastern, southeastern, and southern eyewall.

Power is out since 7:15 last night. It went in and out for almost 3 hours before outage. May be a few days until it is restored even though locally the power line damage is minimal - helped by Ida repairs.

Damage is mainly small and medium sized tree limbs. Ida knocking all the weak trees - and many good ones - helped with that.

From a weather standpoint, the winds peaked at gusts of about 65-70 based on my 50 plus years of storm experience. The winds were more in gusts than sustained which I estimate were around 35-40 at most.

The back side west winds with very little rainfall were a little stronger than the front side. That was probably due to the track jog across Houma into Raceland before heading north.

Rainfall was not extreme due to not getting the north eyewall where the extreme rain fell.

Good luck to everyone during the recovery phase. I enjoy reading these threads and contributing a little from my past experiences but not the reason for us having them.

Just went ride around Houma. Powerline damage very minimal. Didn't see poles that were broken but did see some leaning but not bad. Very little power cables and on the ground.

Seems like a lot of businesses are waiting on power to open up. I stayed within the city limits and didn't go down the bayous yet.

Actual path superimposed over the 48 hour cone.

other than two jogs east, entire path is in the cone.

Thanks for that info. I’m hoping for quicker than that but have use of a home with whole home generator.

From all the contacts I have in Houma, Patterson and Franklin they all say that physical damage was not too bad, just a lot of power outages. Most believe power will be repaired in a few days because there wasnt as much pole damage as they had from Ida. They said most is power lines down or limbs on a line which is easier to repair.

My in laws are in Patterson, Morgan City, and Stephenville. They made out ok but said there are some neighborhoods in the area that took it way worse than they were expecting.

Apparently the main transmission line is down for SLECA. They won’t give any type of expected date for power to come back but mentioned it could be up to 2 weeks in some areas

and thank you to Francine for that…it kept that eye wall mass off of me.

postmortem complaining is what people do when they have the luxury to do it. So no sense in complaining about the complaining
