Very interested to look at 1 and 4pm updates as this thing just seems to be shifting a little bit east each one

I keep telling myself the track is just the center of the cone.

Will just have to wait for the next D-CPM to come out

This is nice wind map tool where is it located at? Can anyone give me a link to that? Just curious what to expect in my area. I'm in Madisonville.

I just got an alert from the NWS about a storm surge warning in my area. Thanks NWS, but I'm gonna stay put.

Guess it depends on how much it strengthens but with the shifts east constantly I might end up eating the eye.

Is she starting to strengthen? As of now, in BR we should expect TS conditions? God speed Baws and Bawettes

Has TD's stopped by to drop any more hurricane prep knowledge, such as use a flashlight to walk around when your power goes out so you don't run into things?

Do the real weather people think the eastward shift trend will continue or is the BR bullseye pretty much a done deal?

The weather people I've seen have said to expect the path to continue nudging east.

That track is almost right over Associated Grocers, Louisiana State Police, Amazon. I know AG has backup power for their warehouse and server room, but not sure about the others.

This might be the worst storm for Baton Rouge since Gustav.

How big is the storm? I mean how wide of an area are we expecting to see hurricane or tropical force storm winds?

This is approx. a 25 to 30 mile shift eastward from 6 hours ago.
Maybe if this keeps up landfall will be in Mobile.

it'll be interesting to see how madisonville does with the water surge. with the levees in st john changing, word is northshore surge can be much worse than year's past with storms like this coming from our west side.... or really any side.

Yep. My kid got the alert a few minutes ago. Scheduling for remote classes in the midst of a hurricane is absolute crap. One of the worst things to come out of Covid is this whole idea of “always being able to log in”.

Many students will be helping their families possibly evacuate and/or clean up. Many won’t even have power to log on. Just cancel the classes for the next two days and be done.
