Out of curiosity, can any of the weather guy explain why the NHC is struggling so much with this forecast? This seems pretty bad, but as I am new to watching this closely, is this pretty normal?

Are they predicting it to be a one, or two?

I was more surprised how long it took to announce the closures. LSU still hasn't announced anything.

Have 2 at LSU and this is common. A building will be closed for construction or water leaking into classrooms etc. students get a text 10 mins before “class is cancelled”

There were some underground pipe issues earlier in the year. Same thing.

Same with weather events

If I had a guess, and I'm no expert, this is a very unusual storm both in where it formed and trajectory and there probably isn't a lot of history for storms like this.

I’m completely shocked that the cone and track moved East since that one guy said everything was still the same as yesterday.

They can dress it up however they want to.

End of day, they still guessing like everybody else.

What is the deal with the projected paths of these storm constantly being moved East? Seems like my whole life, everyday until landfall they push it a bit farther east. Do they not know about jetstreams?

NHC is usually spot on with their predictions. People give them flack leading up to the storm, but after the fact we realize they’re usually spot on. I don’t see that they’re struggling with this one.
