IF this was a monster storm, is this the worst possible path and angle for BR folks?
I would think somewhere in between Lafayette and BR would be the worst path.

because they decided to close school for 2 days when a hurricane is current in its direct path?
No, because they have "forgotten" virtual is still an option and they are cornered to make decisions with the entire parish in mind. Not enough autonomy from school to school, student to student, etc.
You can close campus without closing schools and what's best for say 4th grade may not be best for high school.

Keeping those reservations in Destin and tee times at Indian Bayou tho for the time being.
Honest question- you shite on STPSB for closing for 2 days but you have had reservations in Destin for a few days now? What would you like to see STPSB do?

It’s a real shame that LSU isn’t playing Florida this weekend.

From what I understand the further East this thing goes the more dry air intrusion takes place. The dry air is good news but the speed of the storm after landfall won't give it much time to die down before hitting inland communities.

Offer a more challenging option with additional expectations (virtual, etc. for honors, students in accelerated programs, etc.) and more autonomy from school to school with looser district guidelines so parents could chose a school that offers the best structure for their student not just based on location of residence within the parish.

Mine's running fine, but where do you BR baws go to get your generator serviced? After this hurricane season, I want to get my spare generator looked at

Or when you have infants. Not nearly as fun dealing with no power/limited mobility while dealing with cranky baby.

We got $25k schools on the S. Shore. Those are fun.

My wife are both tanked up
Last night there were lines of cars at Village Gas Station and they only had diesel
Imagine waiting in line not knowing they don’t have gas.
I went and gassed up yesterday in Luling. The lines weren't too bad, but motherfrickers were parking their cars/trucks next to the pump then walking inside to shop around for 10 minutes. People have been shot for less.

I hate this illustration. Apparently only the residents of this state understand that most of it is a swamp/marsh and always has been. It's not "land loss".

Gotcha. Just wondering why you chose closing school during a tropical storm/hurricane to point out the flaws.
This is the hallmark of public schools. I have kids in STPSB and while not perfect I have been overall pleased with it. And I went to private parochial schools K-12
