Getting to the point where it’s cost effective to buy a cow and some bull semen and make your own from scratch.

I need gas...I have other options for food

Chicken wings are even worse, boneless, skinless chicken thighs have increased in price a little over the last year but nothing close to chicken wings. COVID-19 has given employees an excuse to treat paying customers like shite and also raise prices on products for seemingly no reason. Inflation is real and it’s happening, but until those government cards start getting less and less at the store nothing will really happen.

Costco has prime ribeye for 18 bucks a pound... Why you paying double
Because the prime at Costco is crap

This was the only prime they had besides filets. Not sure why I’m getting flamed.
Because you only purchase meat from this one butcher that charges outrageous prices, then come on here whining that your high end butcher charges too much. Shop at Costco like the rest of us and then complain about a $13 a pound steak if you want sympathy.

$35.99 for one raw steak?
I could see if you're at a restaurant, but come on.
You're a retard.
I bought a whole strip loin from Sam's Club for $7.99/lb about a month ago. I got quite a few 2" New York Strips from that.

For ribeyes I prefer to look for one with a larger cap steak piece (the tender outside of the cut). A choice steak with that can we as good as a prime cut.

Bought a dry aged ribeye at central market this weekend (41.99 a pound) and enjoyed it with 150 chatanueff during the Superbowl

Not many decent restaurants serving 14oz prime aged ribeyes for $40 these days from what I've seen.

Most importantly, how did it taste? Looks pretty damned good to me.
Letting it rest and about to throw it on.

I made chili this weekend and just used ground pork. Much cheaper.
Save a lot down here is $4.99 for strip this week. They are $3.99 for London broil. it makes awesome jerky. They are also $1.49 for whole pork butts. I am going to back the truck up tomorrow.
I cannot buy ground beef at Walmart for those prices.

Which doppelganger stated that?
I will buy at Costco if I'm grilling for >= 4 but it's stupid to buy there for 1 and I don't freeze meat.
And I agree with another poster who said Costco's prime isn't the best.

I buy food for a living & everything is going up. All of the issues with lack of workers is causing the wage to go up & quicker than normal. So many people want the working wage to increase, but I wonder if these same people think the increase just comes out of thin air or from some magic box. As the cost of paying humans goes up, so does the cost of goods. Then your raise is no longer a raise. I’m all for making money & for others to make more money, but it always comes from somewhere
