Robert Downey Jr.

I've been a fan ever since he stood up (first go-round) for Mel Gibson after a drunken incident. A guy I took some classes with out in LA had a friend who worked on Tropic Thunder as basically an all around gopher. Downey took all the lower paid assistants on the film out one night and paid for all their drinks. Considering the crap he went through early on in his career, I've been very happy at his turnaround.

Met Russell Crowe and he was as cool as they come. I was at dinner with a few friends, he came in solo and sort of invited himself to sit with us. He had dinner and a few beers with us and joked and gave us some shite like he was part of our group and then paid for our dinner. He was filming a movie at the time and I think really needed a night to hang out with some non-movie people and talk about sports and other random things. We talked a good bit about the rugby team that he owns; all of us in the group had played rugby at one point and he is really passionate about the sport.

Ran into Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal at a restaurant as well, my wife and I were waited to be seated at the same time as them. Jake was cool, he asked if there were any decent places to do some hiking or running. Maggie was a space cadet. I think she was high. She was nice and all, but not on the same planet as we were.

Met Bruce Willis back in the day, he was super nice. Luckily, I really haven't had a bad celeb interaction.

Depp may not be normal, but he is actually nice and cool.

I always thought Depp was a little strange, but I saw a video the other day of the guy visiting a hospital for childhood cancer patients- in character as Capt. Jack Sparrow.
I have to say the joy he brought to those kids was amazing. That he took the time to bring happiness to kids going through such a tough time was an incredibly decent gesture.

After sort of a rocky start in the public eye, Rob Lowe seems like a very genuine dude.

Joe Pesci was pretty cool during the filming of JFK. It was a Saturday afternoon and he stopped into the po boy shoppe I was at. Super nice. He joked with a few of us eating at the bar. Bought us all some beers. Very short dude.

Barkley
Family member got to play a round of golf with him (long story) and said he is, in fact, genuinely nice and considerate...and hilarious.

After the round, they thought the day was over because...well...he's Charles Barkley and probably has plenty of other things to do...but Barkley said, "So where are you taking me for dinner?"

Suffice it to say said family member and some buddies did not pass up the opportunity.

I don’t personally have a story, but I have always heard that Adam Sandler is a nice guy.

Someone here a while back posted about playing pickup basketball with him at their gym.

I was about to say.. Johnny Depp.
He is the victim here.

Sure he's got his issues from his childhood & has had his battles with substance abuse. Does that disqualify him from being truly nice, normal, & cool?

Keanu Reeves seems pretty universally loved.
When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Keanu Reeves.

I was nervous as frick, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Keanu, but she wouldn't stop.

Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Keanu put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

Kurt Russel

I agree with this. He's a sharp guy, too- in that he knew how to beat the studios at their own game. He was never willing to sell off his personal integrity in order to get work in Hollywood. Sure seems like it worked out well for him.
