Unions served a purpose before OSHA. Now it's an organized crime front supported by big government. American steel, our textile and garment industry, auto industry, all moving overseas. Farm machinery and computer industry won't be far behind. Boeing and the jet building business are looking overseas. What else is union? Oh yeah shipping. How is that looking Seattle?

How will they get across the 40' wall?

I dont see a problem with this. Mexican Labor is now cheaper than Chinese labor, and they are our biggest economic ally. It's mutually beneficial.

Globalism doesn't mean no trade...it just means open borders, all things level out with time in an open border senario.
Trump's drinking water comment points that out.

What do you think?
Companies should have the right to do business where they want,....but these types of moves are not good for the people in this country that actually want to work.
I think if they are moving all of their production to anothe country, they mind as well just moving their entire company there. They want to reap the benefits of the US (money) but not employ americans. But I get it, american's, more importantly unions have fricked themselves in a lot of those cases.

The OT conservatives hate free trade. Go figure. I for one enjoy cheaper goods.
Nope, It's not the government regulations and tax code causing companies to not be able to compete.

Actually they're very good for people in this country. Ever heard of comparative advantage? It will make the focus cheaper when I buy it for my son. It's a win for the consumer.

The OT conservatives that know what the frick they're talking about do not hate free trade. And regulations, unions, and taxes are the biggest reasons why companies can't compete here. Just one more reason you're a fricking dumbass.

The OT seems to forget about a little thing called Capitalism, and how Ford has the right to build whatever they want wherever they want. It's our own fault we are all too educated and skilled and choose to work in other fields that the cost of our own labor is really expensive
It wont cost Ford hardly anything to shite the cars from Mexico either.

American assembled
More than 70% of the Tundra is made with American/Canadian made parts (this is the same as the F150). The Tundra's transmission and engine are America, and assembly takes place in the US (Ford's engine is made up of American and Canadian sources).
Seems American Made to me.
As for Nissan, the North/South American headquarters is in my town emploing thousands. The plants "assembling" the cars employee thousands more in my area. The Nissan Titan is made with more than 50% American/Canadian parts.
Both the Nissan and Toyota trucks are ranked in the top 10 American Made trucks by Edmonds. LINK.
As for small cars, again, both companies are moving tens of thousands of jobs to the US, the South in particular. As opposed to moving current US jobs to Mexico.
So yes, I'll stick to American Nissan and Toyota.

Exactly. This is the cost of the free market. My thing is it's hard to be competitive when you're taxed out of the arse. Competition leads to innovation and we have no competition so we have no innovation.

You do know that the highest cost is just labor. Union or no Union. Also, our regulations and other costs are much lower than Japan or Germany. It's just labor that costs so much and so we move to the lower cost producer. You should know this. This is simple economics.

The Mexicans you get working in factories in Mexico are not the hard working ones who cross the border. My experience with Mexican workers in factories in Mexico is that they are very lazy compared to our workers in other parts of the world.

Yeah we all know that. But once a federally imposed minimum wage of $15/hr hits you can kiss all the jobs goodbye. They won't be able to pay labor along with corporate taxes and the works.

Until it affects you. I'm no conservative, however, I've worked for a company for 23 years. it's now outsourcing our Jobs. Until it affects people like you, you will continue to feel the way you do. It's cause an effect.
I don't know if you have noticed, cost of goods have not gone down. Profit margins and bonuses for executives have gone up.
People like you continue to support these actions, it will eventually get you too. If you work for a private company, it's only a matter of time before you realize your job is next. Then your attitude will change and you will want people to listen to you but there will be some Jackass saying, I don't care. I enjoy cheaper products. He wont give a shite that you are losing your job.

The answer, in my opinion, is to tax imported goods at a high rate, while lowering taxes on american made goods.

Why not? I'm not for a rise in the minimum wage but all these manufacturing jobs pay much more than that per hour. Walmart and McDonald's workers lose out the most from the minimum wage increase.
The reason why an assembly plant would move to Mexico is because of labor costs but not the federally mandated ones. I mean think about it. It's not that complicated to assemble a car. So why pay someone with only a high school diploma in Michigan or Ohio $75k a year to do it when someone in a 3rd world country can do it for 1/3 of that.
