Will be interested to see how much Mark Cuban moves up in the next one of these lists, after selling the Mavs for $3.5 billion?.

These are folks with publicly disclosed assets in some form or fashion.
There's loads of old money out there, and folks that are much more wealthy than these.
You're not wrong. Especially as it pertains to Europe. Ever heard of the Schaeffler family? Nope, and most people have not. They own LuK, fig Bearing, INA, and controlling shares of Continental AG. Those are all top 50 global auto industry suppliers. The matriarch of the clan and one son are the sole shareholders. Europe has plenty of people like them - the Quandts, Agnellis, etc - but they won't make any lists because there is little or no public data.

With that said, do all of those Saudi Princes dudes have their worth hidden? Maybe I just don't pay attention, but when mentioning the wealthiest in the world I don't recall ever seeing them unless they have non Saudi type names

Yeah I can't figure out for the life of me why they wouldn't be on this list.

It was about that much at the time. It would probably be closer to $100bil more today.
Yep.
Bezos was once the richest guy on the planet and Amazon has only grown.

1. Elon Musk $251B
2. Jeff Bezos $161 B
3. Larry Ellison $158 B
4. Warren Buffett $121 B

Would he move up? Isn't his ownership in the Mavs included in his net worth already?

Those are the people who invest in the economy. Fostering investment into our domestic economy and our R&D is about the healthiest thing that can be done. Just keep the 800 pound gorillas from killing the promising infants.
The left politics of envy just throws a big wet blanket over the investment climate from small business to corporate empires. It's why socialism has failed every time. Small doses of socialism are just slow economic poison.

Other companies would have died.
Well some of the geniuses at Walmart did buy up some not to stellar companies to get in on the next big thing and they lost their arses on it luckily they had the cash flow to subsidize those losses. Anyone remember VUDU.
At least Walmart has not pulled a Sears yet where all the startups and acquisitions for the next big thing eventually lead to their downfall and then they sell off the company for pennies on the dollar and eventually bankrupting themselves.

What I take from this list is that if I name my next son Larry there is a 20% chance he becomes a billionaire.
