The wealthiest people in the U.S. are as wealthy as ever—and the cutoff to make the list now stands at a record-tying $2.9 billion.

America's superrich are riding high again. After losing a collective $500 billion last year, the nation’s 400 wealthiest people have gained it all back. This elite set is now worth $4.5 trillion in aggregate, tying a record set in 2021, and it takes $2.9 billion to make The Forbes 400, another tied record. More than half the gains came from rebounding technology stocks. Just four tech moguls—Ellison, Zuckerberg, Huang and Dell—account for 30% of the entire list’s jump. One name you won’t see: Donald Trump. The ex-president’s fortune fell 19% to $2.6 billion. Net worths were calculated using stock prices from September 8, 2023.
quote:
1. Elon Musk $251B
2. Jeff Bezos $161 B
3. Larry Ellison $158 B
4. Warren Buffett $121 B
5. Larry Page $114 B
6. Bill Gates $111 B
7. Sergey Brin $110 B
8. Mark Zuckerberg $106 B
9. Steve Ballmer $101B

What's crazy is he would be worth $40 billion more if he didn't get divorced
Also, if the Walton fortune was all under one person that person would be worth $240 billion roughly.

I'm glad you stopped at #10. I don't need my butler's worth getting out.

And if they would have gotten into the e-commerce trade earlier than they did, their worth would probably be roughly a half a trillion dollars, and hardly anybody in this world knows who the f*ck is Jeff Bezos.

Wealthy people do well under white liberal rule, poor and middle class unfortunately suffer. You can preach tax the rich and help the poor all you want in your commercials but it never pans out that way.

Just look at the accomplishments. Where would the space program be? Hell, I don’t even know what NASA does anymore. I could go on and on. Call it dickriding if you like.

Take 80% of their wealth and send it to the border and Ukraine.

For the "tax the rich" crowd" you could take every single penny from these billionaires and leave them homeless in a ditch and fund the government for barely a year.

These are folks with publicly disclosed assets in some form or fashion.
There's loads of old money out there, and folks that are much more wealthy than these.

You would need to spend over $14M/day, every single day, for 50 years to spend $250B.

No there isn't.
