Fatalities from gun violence totaled 43,530 last year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a 10% rise from 39,529 the year before. That includes homicides, suicides, accidents, mass shootings and self-defense shootings.

homicides - huge chunk is gang violence, the rest is much more concerning to me

suicides - tragic, but doesn't move the needle for me one bit in terms of gun policy

accidents - tragic, but not really "gun violence" since there is no ill intent

mass shootings - seem to have tapered off with everyone stuck at home

self-defense shootings - laughable that they include these numbers in the total as somehow bad

I'd be very curious to know if their definition of homicide includes justified homicides by law enforcement personnel.

Best way to stimulate the entertainment and tourism industries that have been wrecked by the shutdowns.

Part-time Concealed Carry Instructor here.

Reality has slapped many normal people in the face in 2020. The biggest reasons people took my classes in 2020 were because of covid and rioting. They realized that the person ultimately responsible for you is you and having a force multiplier like a firearm gives you a better option to fight with.

I hope to see the new pool of gun owners grow in 2021 along with other freedoms. Would love to see the Constitutional Carry bill pass.

Guarantee you that this will be used in their push to ban guns. “The 2nd amendment never intended for this many people to own this many guns”

My daughter has a pink rifle, for instance. At best it would be used for target shooting because she sure isn’t capable of getting a deer with it.

It will work in a pinch.

If every adult carried a firearm, there would probably be a lot fewer victims of violent crime.
