If you're taking a cruise out of Mobile, you're pretty well asking for it.

It’s a Caribbean cruise ship out of hot and humid mobile

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. I’ve seen all of these things myself on various carnival ships

He was a bartender on a carnival cruise ship.

If your ok with a carnival cruise, health wasn’t a high priority anyway.

Same can be said for any Carnival cruise ship.

Wife and I took Carnival out of New Orleans and it was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. Don't get all the hate. Other than small accomodations everything else was fine.

We booked a Royal Carib cruise and when she found out she was pregnant we canceled because of threat of Norwalk virus and have never done a cruise with the kids.

A lot of the food locations are outside. How do you keep flies from being outside?

I’ll just stick with a regular beach vacation.

It's impossible. You can't stop them from coming inside either when doors open and close several hundred times a day. Health and hospitals likes to write this kind of shite up in very exaggerated ways. As a restaurant owner I could tell stories for days about health inspectors shaking down locations over trivial nonsense. I had a covered coffee cup sitting on a empty prep counter while doing inventory and our inspector cited me for "open contaminates in food prep area" and now that Louisiana H&H is allowed fine restaurants without any oversight it's gotten worse. Dead bug on the floor = insect infestation and a fine. Ice in a sink drain = improper sanitation in three compartment sink.

The bit about the gaps in the sneeze rail is ridiculous. Those sneeze rails did not magically shrink over time and suddenly become unsafe.

I'm not a fan of cruise lines but people should be aware that health inspections are more often than not just extortion.

Carnival would not be my first choice as a cruise provider.

One of the biggest contributing factors to people's cruise experience is the clientele they are with.

For the most part, it's the length (in other words, price) of the cruise - and not the cruise line - which determines this. A 10-day cruise will have a much classier clientele than a 3-day cruise, no matter the cruise line.

So depending on how long your cruise was, that's probably why you're confused.

I've done cruises with multiple cruise lines of multiple lengths. I've learned two things.

#1: I will NEVER take a 5-day (or shorter) cruise again in my life.

#2: All things being equal, I will choose the cruise line which gives me the most convenient port of departure.
