I didn't plan on it either. I was adamantly opposed to it actually. Wtf happened?

It is. People from the North are blown away when they try southern BBQ. I've never been blown away by any dish I've tried when I visited New York or Minneapolis

There is just so much wrong with every bit of this that I don’t know where to begin, but every bit of this is buying into the hype over southern food, which is by all standards very overblown. It’s not unwarranted, because southern food does have its place, but to say that food in NY for example takes a back seat to southern food is just plain an embarrassingly stupid and highly myopic statement. Good lord man. Move around the country and try new things. If your reference to if a food is good or not by how they do BBQ or fried catfish or similar, then the South’s probably going to win hands down, especially when it meets your criteria for what you’re accustomed to, but if it’s food in general, especially when you consider complex flavors and techniques, traditional Southern staples have a lot to learn.

I can’t remember the poster, but I got in a discussion with him once over Asheville not deserving best southern food consideration and Jackson MS did because it didn’t meet his criteria for what he was accustomed to in fried foods, and Jackson MS did. Guess where he was from?

I’ve been arguing with him for over an hour. He thinks the south (including Texas) wins out. You aren’t going to change his mind. If he’s happy thinking that, more power to him. I may disagree, but if he’s living somewhere and thinks he has the best food at his disposal, he’s living well.

I have. The South region beats any other region in food hands down, in my opinion.

New York City is not a region.

This may be one of the best uses of this gif I’ve ever seen. And I love that gif, so that’s saying something.

Cheers to you, sir.

It also beats any other region in obesity and heart disease. This is not my opinion.

Guy is either trolling or just happens to be a mashup of all negative Texas stereotypes

He’s not trolling, unless it’s one of the longest trolls in TD history. He truly believes what he’s saying. But he’s entitled to that opinion.

It's easier to make good tasting food when you don't give AF about how much butter, fat or sugar goes into your food.

What does it explain? Other than the fact that he doesn’t want to get married or have children?

I do. You've focused in on specific cities (which are not regions).

You were the one who brought up Minneapolis and New York. I assumed you meant the city and not the state. I’d be happy to focus on regions if that helps you.

It sounds to me you would rather be in my position with as much time you have focusing on the threads I’m involved with.
It takes little effort to recall the guy who is constantly starting threads about where he lives.
