the areas around portland and seattle are the nice parts. the cities themselves are just as shitty as any other big city. maybe not as shitty as some.
plenty of hotties in the suburban areas.

I've been to Asheville several times, nice town. Great beer, great scenery, good food, good women.
Let's not underestimate the demented SJW factor though.
Remember Waking Life coffee shop?
LINK
LINK
Two guys who owned a coffee shop were forced to sell their business and leave town after it was discovered they also ran a blog and podcast about dating/women (detailing all the sluts they banged in Asheville)
If the owners would have stood their ground they may still be open, but they folded like good little cucks and apologized and tried to appease the SJW mob. Lesson learned: never ever apologize.
ETA: Now I am wondering if TigerontheMountain and HempHead might be the guys from the blog/podcast.

That’s ok. You’re allowed to disagree. I’m not a Seattle liberal.
Ultimately it boils down to personal preference. I’d be willing to say that outdoor activities are a wash in both places because they both are unique and just about limitless

That's most cities in the US now. Seattle has a statue of Lenin and nobody has an issue with it

It's on private property and people vandalize it all the time.
*not saying there aren't a shitload of SJW's in Seattle.

Mostly but I think Seattle definitely wins on beer. At a minimum it offers a far larger range of options.

Have you ever done the beer mile in Asheville?

While Asheville is the GOAT southern city, this isn’t true... in fact it’s hard to compare the two cities in general.

No but according to google there are a respectable 23 breweries in Asheville and 60 in the region but there's 174 in the Seattle metro. In fact the Seattle metro has more breweries than any other metro in the country. Numbers aren't everything but I'm assuming the city with 174 breweries has more variety than the city with 60.

You should. Seattle serves a much larger population center so I’m not surprised they have more breweries. I’ll take quality over quantity all day
Besides, how many different variations of IPA’s do you really need?
Im aware of the varying brewing styles other than IPA, but damn if IPA isn’t what everyone wants.

This has been the most ridiculous thread on the OT in quite a while

I actually may be stopping in Seattle in a few months. I’ll be hiking the northern section of the PCT and planned to stop in Seattle. I’ll drink a bunch of beer and report back

IPAs are arse. Tastes like blended grass clippings

I actually agree with you. I'm not into IPA's but luckily there are a ton of other options.

Y’all brew beer with grass in Texas? That’s not how that works.

There are cons to this region.
The food is more limited, and the dating scene isn’t always the best. Everything also revolves around the outdoors, so if that isn’t your thing, then you’re out of luck.
I love the outdoors, so I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon - but I don’t think this forever, not for me at least.
