But a turn prior to the check point in the day and age of cell phones is pretty damn suspect.
The trooper subjected him to a DUI test, likely he searched the vehicle. To me, in this instance the trooper removed any suspicion of the driver and put it on himself for towing his vehicle on a minor traffic violation.
This is a trooper on a power trip.

suspect of what?
There is no difference in being within sight or not yet within sight of it nowadays.
As I said, I am sure the trooper is a jack as, but if you pull a uturn to avoid a checkpoint, you are getting scrutinized. Occams razor and all.

Mississippi troopers are a bunch of corrupt idiots. Highly recommend avoiding all of Mississippi. And people wonder why Mississippi is ranked last in everything.

FWIW, SCOTUS fricked up big time when they made an exception to the 4th Amendment for road blocks "for public safety."
That never should have happened.

State Troopers in any state are the worst, all think they are the action force who's role is to enforce to the max. No serving, just enforce like we are all hardened criminals.
They should all be disbanded and just have audit agencies for the County/Parish sheriff departments.

Right there with the Virginia State Police. Those idiots stopped the NYPD caravan headed to NO after Katrina for having their blue lights on.

Passing two eighteen wheelers. He comes up behind me doing at least 95, gets right behind me to the point I can see the lights on top of the car.
I put my blinker on prior to completing the pass to let him know I am getting over as soon as possible.
As I begin to get over he damn near clips me going past. Does it to another person in front, comes up on em so damn fast they have no idea what to do so they slam on their brakes almost killing everyone.
He stays right behind them and flashes his blue lights on em. They think they are now being pulled over and slow down more. Now we are all going 60.
If you gotta drive that fast, put your lights on so we can see you rolling up behind us and know to get out of the way. Trooper mustve had to go move some furniture.

That guy gave me a ticket for a cracked windshield on my company’s vehicle, when I only had a small chip, going down I-269 south of Memphis. Ticket was dropped after I brought pictures to court. Guy needs to go through training again.

You have never met some of the justice court judges then. Those idiots will make power tripping state troopers look like kindergarten bullies.
They have never been to law school but demand the respect of a Supreme Court justice.

That is like saying that the only corrupt people in the FBI, DOJ and CIA are the guys up at the Top. More than HALF of those people are criminals.
Probably HALF of the cops are POSs too.
