2003 Camry with 160K miles
Just barely broken in.
A lot of cabbies in Chicago use the hybrid models. They are beat to shite and seen to have at least 300k on them.

99 F250 160k-ish 7.3L diesel lariat crew cab 4x4. I can think of no reason to ever sell this truck, even with diesel shortages etc. I could throw a dead possum in the tank and it would run.
2008 Forester 105k. Had head gaskets rebuilt preemptively at 100k, for a song.
I've hit deer in the truck, had a tree fall on the Subaru + a hit and run. They both drive like new with very little maintenance.

How do you guys put so many miles on a car? My oldest car, a 2003 Mustang GT has only 12,038 miles on it. My 2004 conversion van, it has only 83k on it. My daily driver is a 2007 Explorer Platinum with just 41k.

A: you have 3 cars, so of course none of them gets driven very much.
B: I live 20 minutes from work and about 5 minutes from my gym. I bet I average 25 miles a day. That's good for 9000 a year. That's not a lot of miles. If you add up the mileage on all 3 of your cars, you drive even less.
So the proper question is why do you drive so little?

This is just a guess, but maybe they drive longer distances or they drive more frequently.

2013 F250 6.7L diesel. 241K+
Engine, transmission, and AC are still strong.
The rest of the truck including rotors (on 3rd set) brakes (4 or 5 brake jobs) emission sensors (all 4 changed at least 3 times, DEF system (2nd unit after problems started at 50K) electronics, and plastic cracking interior…. Not so much.

I will admit I wish my car had bluetooth capability, but I can wait a few more years.
Does it have a radio? If so, just buy one of these for it. (All us old car owners know about these).
Bluetooth FM Transmitter

quote:Dude, that's $200-300 for a new head unit, with installation. I already got it in my Excursion (with a back-up camera because it's a huge bitch). Probably going to add it to my 20 year old Lexus soon.

Trying to convince my wife to trade her 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in for a 4-Runner, way more reliable IMO. Just waiting for the damn thing to break down, where it’s only a matter of time.
Replaced the alternator (a recall paid for it) in ‘18.
That was the only mechanical issue with it.
I’m in a ‘20 GC now, 80k miles, zero issues so far.
I won’t argue that the 4 Runner is a better vehicle for long term, but I can’t complain about my GC experiences.

'17 Silverado high country, 107k.
I paid it off recently, so now it's time to start playing with it. It needs a new windshield, new headlight, new/repair of the bumper, and new suspension (ball joints, struts, tie rods). All thanks to DDing 100+ miles a day on in Houston traffic.
My end goal is to turn it into my coonass dream truck. Ranch hand bumpers, lift, 35's. Going to do that myself over the next couple years.
