I have a pair that I wear around the house/yard.

They are comfortable.

They are comfortable and they last like 10 years. I'll probably buy another pair when these kick the bucket. I've always had some since probably the mid 90s.

At most it would be about 8 weeks. You can't count to 8?

Braver than the millennials.
The office is opening up for those who want to return to work. About 30% of the overall employees will return, she's the only one of about 10 in her department

Just remember how your Gen X elders held this whole thing together with duct tape until the country could get back on it’s feet. Remember us in our frail old age.

This is literally the dumbest thing I have seen, I would argue that the vast majority of millennials that have graduated and have careers have jobs that they are able to fully execute while working from home. Sorry Gen Xers dont know how to use the internet.

A few years ago, At 45, I went back to college to take some classes.

This Gen-xer outworked and out preformed almost every millennial in the class. They called me "the curve buster". They were pretty difficult classes with a similar difficult reputations (I took a series of Human Anatomy/Microbiology/Physiology). When the professor asked us "Why we were taking the class", none of them could believe me when I said, "Just for fun..."

None of the "kids" in their realize how much easier they have it than when my generation went to school. First, all of your notes are handed to you when you walk in the classroom. Second, your professors lecture is recorded and you can listen back to it later online. Third you have so many online study tools that just weren't available 30 years ago.

Non-traditional students have pretty much always academically outperformed traditional students, no matter the time period. I know, it's really fricking odd that someone with a couple decades of workforce experience is better motivated and organized than 18-24 year old kids whose brains haven't finished developing. Brava.

True story: wife, age 50, works with a bunch of millennials.
She's the only one that is willing to go back to the office next week when it reopens again

Are there aspects of her job that can't be done from home? If so, makes sense. If not, sounds like she's just kind of tired being in the house, with you.

If they are as productive working from home, who gives a frick? You are paid to do a job. Location should not matter.

You were definitely more mature than your classmates, no debate there.

My only point is you were more mature than them because you were older, not because of a particular generation identity.

The millenials who go back to college at 40 will be more mature than the 20 year olds they’re around. Then when those 20 year olds are 40 and go back to school they’ll be more mature than the 20 year olds. It’s the circle of life.
