Nope. I’ve seen it, though. Wife’s cousin accidentally ate pecan crusted oysters at a wedding reception. Had a pretty bad reaction.

Thank God I don’t have any. But I hear people can develop them later in life. I pray I don’t ever get the shellfish one. I love me some crawfish.

Just make sure you peel them well.

Glad it worked out better than the run in with the garden hose.

I have a fairly insensitive take on food allergies. I think we're only making things worse for mankind by protecting people with allergies and eventually allowing them to procreate.

I think we need to let them go. I think we need to let you go, sir. For the betterment of people everywhere. We don't need a world with a bunch of people who can't smell a peanut without their bodies shutting down.

My body is impervious to it. I am virtually indestructible.

I out grew my food allergies. Growing up, I was allergic to milk and chocolate and anything that contained them. As you can imagine, that’s a big hurdle as a little kid. No ice cream, Halloween candy, birthday cakes are limited, no morning cereal.

Then, in college, they went away. It really was like someone flipped a switch at 20.

Food allergies are for people that natural selection should’ve already weeded out

shellfish allergy

I've eaten shellfish all my life, one year I had a reaction every time I ate crawfish.

I'd get these red welps all over my body, Dr said it was iodine. Had 3-4 steroid shots which knocked it right out.

Haven't had a problem before or since

it happened to a cousin of mine. Had been eating crawfish all his life then all of sudden at 38 he ate them one day and he suddenly thought he was having a heart attack.

I agree. We should also get rid of hospitals and dentists as well. Lets really start handing out those Darwin Awards.

I tend to agree with this take about a lot of things but I don't think allergies are hereditary.

Same for me, shellfish allergy showed up at 36. I carry benadryl with me everywhere in case I accidentally eat it.

That is a very cold/harsh take.

Also I’ve read theories that posit the shielding of kids from peanuts and strawberries and the like are causing more severe allergies in kids due to the lack of naturally formed defense mechanisms in the bodies

Hell yea, I have a bad peanut allergy and had to give the epipen a few times because it was nearly impossible to breath. Scary shite

Edit: neither of my parents have allergies and they didn’t avoid allergens with me as a child
