Ozempic just mimics GLP1 production which can be done with a high protein diet and exercise.
No it doesn;t. You can still easily overeat protein. Calories in. Ozempic kills your appetite pretty much altogether.

But there is a whole lot of butthurt and ignorance in this thread (not you Gman).

I know 2 people on Ozempic (probably more, but only 2 admitted it). Both of them claim it is mostly their new exercise regimen and alcohol abstinence led to their 40 lb weight loss.
Cutting drinking and adding exercise are wonderful, but it seemed odd to not give credit to the drug. I mean maybe they lost 5 lbs from the exercise and alcohol cessation
Wondering if anyone else has noticed this from Ozempic/Mounjaro users
well bud...hate to break it to you but GLP-1s do not raise metabolism so the weight loss is from cutting calories and burning more so they are half right
but they should have given credit to the medicine helping them stick to lower calories.
but why do yall care how they did it?
got the ot complaining about fatties and girls with fat asses and no boobs daily....when people take medicine, workout or have surgery to fix these problems...the ot gets mad and essentially says they did it wrong and cheated
you are not competing with these people. you are not a pro athelte or a model so who gives a frick how they did it?

I truly believe that in 50 years, everyone will be on a very low, weekly, micro dose of some variant of this drug class — especially if they can figure out how to do it in pill form … and it will eventually be cheaper. Taking a glp1 will be viewed just like fish oil or a multivitamin. Forget reversing obesity — you’ll never even become obese. Studies are also looking into using glp1s to help prevent and/or treat alzheimers with promising results so far. Perhaps micro doses can prevent people from becoming alcoholics based on all the evidence it reduces cravings of all kinds.

A lifestyle change absolutely helps accelerate weight loss when on Ozempic or Zepbound. The drugs aren’t a magic bullet by themselves. They help tremendously but you have to be active and exercise and also change your diet, otherwise, you will barely lose any weight at all. You can’t continue to sit on the couch and be a fat arse and expect to lose 40+ lbs.

Alot of its true. You wont just take it and lose weight. You do have to put in the work and change habits to get those kind of results.
My brother in law takes it bc he is diabetic and that fricker cant lose any weight. Eats the same etc.
The wife took it, and did her usual diet, fasting, exercise and lost 70lbs.
I guess the motivation they get from losing alot more when ozempic is also added makes them work even harder bc there getting better results faster.
But you cant just take the shite.and lose weight

Don't worry Karen, I'm paying for mine... compounded version, plus gym membership... down 110 pounds. Also saving you money because I'm not taking BP prescription anymore and my stress test was great!
Hope you continue to enjoy paying medical insurance to cover smokers, alcoholics. At least I'm trying to do my part.

again...explain..
or you must be talking about insurance cost...what if someone doesnt even have it covered by insurance
again why the frick are you and everyone else on this board so concerned with how others spend their money?
let me guess you think some bank is paying for this too?

They are losing lean mass. Not fat
Absurd, got link? LIke fatties have that much lean mass to begin with.
agree. this is the dumbest take ever.
really obese people are extremely sedentary and have a MAJOR risk of injury even if they just try to hit the local gym to do what seems to be simple exercise routines.
it stands to reason if you can drop 50-60 pounds (EVEN WITHOUT DOING A SINGLE PUSH UP) and then hit the gym, your chances of success and not injuring yourself go way up.
so that missing 'lean mass' you speak of, isn't there to start with but if you take some down from obese to just overweight, i bet they can start to take walks around the block and some simple lifting to start to build it.

obese people have a ton of health issues; diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, etc etc.
this means they're likely already taking dozens of pharmaceutical wonder pills already...each with a whoooooooole book full of side effects.
you're arguing the 'potential' side effects of semaglutide outweigh the combined side effects of all these other drugs people are depending on.
thats the dumbest take i've heard to shame people who are trying to fix a problem.
and also, who the frick cares what you think? its not your problem to worry about it; its theirs.

It’s going to be compulsory covered by insurance in the near future, which means I have to pay for it. I shouldn’t have to pay for this, someone to get an abortion, people who choose to smoke, all sorts of dumbass shite.
Not only that, but it sends the wrong message societally. The same one we’ve been sending the last 30 or 40 years that got us here with every one being fat, lazy, and retarded. We’ve lost all sense of hard work, dedication, accountability as a nation. There’s so many risks that comes with from your day to day life to national security.
People like you (ie stupid people) can’t see the trees through the forrest on issues like this.
