So.. just looking at the classroom its a bunch of old white people who are looking for ammo against BLM..

And then gets shot dead because of incompetent police

Tragic but there is certainly a level of dramatic irony here

What?

Man, your level of clairvoyance here is amazing. These classes are a good thing, yet you found a way to criticize. Aspergers?

Where do you get BLM from? It's a citizens police academy. They run you through a quick little training and let you do a ride along. Sounds like something to keep these retired people entertained. a-hole.

Probably something similar to this.

I'm looking at context.

A bunch of old, likely retired, white people.. attending a shoot/don't shoot police simulation.

Given what I know about the demographic I think it's a reasonable assumption. I could be wrong. Either way there is a level of dramatic irony here.

Citizens police academies are for people to learn about the role of the police in certain situations. It's not about citizens taking the law into their own hands.

Your ignorance is astounding.

That's why I asked about Aspergers. It seems fitting

Which is why I prefaced it by "I hope you're being facetious".

If a comrade of mine just did something that messed up today, the last thing I would be worried about is making my hooks sparkle.

To each their own, I guess

Meh. id hardly call this person a comrade but either way

Someone fricked up bad. Sucks for all involved. I don't know if someone should be in prison because id have a hard time fining any criminal intent. A gun is a dangerous weapon and accident can occur with them.

No reason why a training gun shouldn't have been used. A gun without a firing pin or even a rubber gun should have been used.

And yet hundreds of people (without shields) are put on trial every year because they discharge a weapon accidently and injure or kill someone. Equal protection of the law?

You don't need criminal intent.

Also, just for reference, involuntary manslaughter charge in Florida does NOT require intent, simply carelessness or neglect.

LINK

quote:

To establish involuntary manslaughter, the prosecutor must show that the defendant acted with "culpable negligence." Florida statutes define culpable negligence as a disregard for human life while engaging in wanton or reckless behavior.  The state may be able to prove involuntary manslaughter by showing the defendant's recklessness or lack of care when handling a dangerous instrument or weapon, or while engaging in a range of other activities that could lead to death if performed recklessly.

That's assuming a DA will have the political will to prosecute.

Man, this is all so crazy.

Why use any kind of real gun?

Just use a cap pistol.

Would be interested in seeing the protocol for this kind of training.

Maybe so, but don't look for many volunteers for the
next class, just saying.
