That's perfect. I was going to suggest a nerf gun even.
I really don't know how people deal with situations like this. Awful. She seemed like a great woman from what I have read too. (not that it matters to this horrible situation. i'd hate to see it happen to anyone)

On a handgun I open the slide and make sure to see daylight down the clip and make sure no bullet is in the chamber...then I redo that all over again. Each step I say in a low voice "my gun is empty."

Im not saying the guy shouldn't have to face consequences. I don't know what happened here other than someone fricked up. This is why we do not train with actual functioning weapons. Accidents can happen and will happen if you do something enough times.

If a son shot his father during a hunting accident id feel he shouldn't be charged either. A person using a gun in an unsafe manner that results in injury or death should be. Its simple as that for me.
