FWIW, guns drawn and vests on is standard procedure for high level state and federal entry scenarios. People complain all the time about it but it’s not going to change. The feds aren’t gonna screw around when it comes to executing a warrant.

I mean who the hell in this day and age would serve a warrant without them? Lol. Frick that I’m not serving a warrant unprepared, especially to someone with a history of being crazy like this chick.

Dude that's what a data scientist is.

No. The data scientist is the one who developed the GIS system. Not the tier 1 tech who installed it.

That's like saying a Cisco network administrator is a Computer Engineer.

but if the police are "vested up and in tactical gear" I highly doubt that they just decided to suit up in the 20 minutes between knocking and entering.

SWAT is used on just about any search warrant serving these days.

From this 2016 PBS story.

Probably better sources out there. This sort of thing is probably something most freedom loving Americans can get behind when it comes to reforming policing.

I don't know if it's funny or sad how much fawning praise she got in the press as a "covid scientist." Fortune named her to their "40 under 40" list under "Healthcare."

How dare you speak against one of The Party's Chosen National Heroes!

Off to the gulags with you.

Spouse worked with her at LSU. She was fired on a friday and had to be physically removed from the building........only to show up the next monday and pretend she was not fired. LOL. She was nuttier than squirrel sh!t. I'm sure she did not refuse to manipulate data, she has a long list of mental health problems. On a lighter note, she was probably the hottest chick in the mental ward.

Nah, they didn't have to go with guns drawn for her unless the "covid scientist" or her husband have been saying some wacky shite and had guns in the house but most SWAT search warrant executions are for locations with very bad people inside. You can cherrypick a few that weren't but most are for involve people with long rap sheets, guns, and drugs. Most people will support the police being protected, just in case, when it ultimately means getting shite bags and drugs off the street or getting their stolen shite back.

ETA: That wasn't a SWAT team..they were in khakis. Most likely agents from the attorney general's office.

They were using a generic common username/password for all users. They're lucky that's all that was done. Terrible ITSEC procedure there.

I don't even think that guy's a data scientist. He's a software developer. A data scientist is largely an end user of software tools designed to extract insights from large datasets. The code he writes is largely ad hoc in nature. It may be very clever code, but it's not application code that anyone else is going to use directly.

It seems like people are invoking the title "data scientist" like some sort of magic spell here to lend credibility. Even if that were this chick's job, that wouldn't be justified.
