That is one where I can't say the officer has for sure fault. He was given a training weapon and it was loaded.
Now if he loaded it, it's different. It was probably marked for training. The ones I've seen had white electric tape on them.
This is like The Crow Michael Masse killed Brandon Lee with a gun he thought was blanks. He didn't load it.

I've been in and around the military/law enforcement for 20 years. That fricktard should've checked that weapon

I used to do medical training for police departments and getting decent role players meant getting non-police. We never shot anyone. I had very strict safety rules.
Goddam you are a bad arse motha.

No, just no. I don’t give a shite what anyone tells me when they hand me a firearm I am going to check it myself before I take possession let alone point and pull the trigger in someone’s direction.

He didn't point the gun at someone and pull the trigger? Really crazy scenario when the librarian is the bad guy.

Glock makes train g pistols that cannot shoot a projectile. They are red in color and function exactly the same. They have a solid barrel with no bore. They cost about $1000. I can’t for the life of me understand why anything other than a red gun would ever be used.
I was a firearms instructor in my prior LEO career.

2 million seems a lot for a 73 yr old librarian.
Ive seen a case on.net where someone got billions.
Please lets get sensible limits.

Rule number one: Treat all guns as if they were loaded and NEVER point them at anything you don’t want to kill.

Why was a 73 year old female librarian the bad guy in this training scenario?

Let's all hope you don't own a gun.

They didn’t have enough money after they bought a ROOK.

Some police officers are fricking dumbasses. Freaking jeez, why the frick are real guns even used in a freaking simulation.
You can buy some toy guns from walart for $5.

Except he was using his personal revolver and thought he'd loaded it with blanks.
I have no idea why he wasn't using one of the blue or red training Glocks (that can only fire sim paintballs) instead.

Soldiers got out of the military and became police trainers. . The young officers are trained like soldiers, dressed like soldiers and think they are at war. In their minds they are at war.

This is absurd if true. I don’t doubt it because they are sold to government orgs, but you can buy 2 real Glocks that shoot real bullets for $1000. Lol, why would a fake gun that doesn’t work cost twice as much?

This is old news. This happened a few years ago
Posted on 10/16/19 at 9:37 pm to Bedhog
I'm sympathetic to this cop more than I am to most cops, but if I did what he did, they'd charge me with manslaughter

i've seen this happen before, but how does this happen still..
come on.

Today there is NO reason to use a real weapon in any kind of training like this. There are training weapons that are made for this that can not fire a round. Only active SWAT training in police forces use live rounds in very CONTROLLED situations/locations.
Yup.
There is absolutely no reason for this to ever, ever.. happen..
This is sickening.
