They often take these guys to the zoo for treatment because the machines and doors at regular hospitals aren’t big enough. True story.

Yup, my wife used to like watching those shows and I’d watch with her occasionally.
It’s always a mental health issue coupled with someone (or a few someones) enabling them.
Sometimes it’s a codependency where the “food bringer” is not particularly well themselves. Often they leave the “relationship” if the obese person gets better and starts losing weight. Some crazy stuff and sometimes really sad.
