ALPR gets a bad rap. It’s the devil until it helps find your kid who has been kidnapped or solve a crime committed against a loved one.

Gulf Shores just put up $200k in Flock cameras. Officer response time is less than 3 minutes without cameras. They have one setup that only watches the dog park which is vacant most hot or rainy days.

If you have the plate number can't you just pay the dollar online to one of those search sites to find out if the car bringing your kid to school belongs to the new boyfriend or not?

I think it’s great idea near a school. Could help id someone not supposed to be there or if something happened be able to find them .

It’s our rapid advance to a dystopian surveillance state. I don’t care about “but they’re in public there is no privacy”, if that’s the world you want to live in great for you. And tbh I don’t care about it being stored on AWS or worried about “bad actors knowing when I drop the kid off”. What I do care about is the complete 24/7 monitoring going on, now being done by AI, and everyone just shrugging it off. I don’t live in China nor want to

Because of the security cameras at shopping centers and now the ALPR cams going up everywhere license plate theft is skyrocketing.
Once a flock cam has recorded the plate after a crime its forever stored in the system and the plate is no good so another stolen one must take its place
Upgrading your plate bolts to tamper proof torx is the answer

Only fools are cool with flock cameras. They just dont have the mental capacity to understand the dangers and dont give a frick about the consequences.
