FL Mom: 'Stupid' for Cops to Arrest Me for Leaving Son in Hot Car

Talisha Martin explained in a Facebook rant that she went in to the store in the city of Palatka to buy a pack of toilet paper.
She admitted that she left her five-year-old son in the running car with the windows up and the air on.
When she returned, she discovered that bystanders had alerted sheriff's deputies who took her to Putnam County Jail for leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle.In a Facebook post, the Palatka Police Department wrote that officers responded to reports of the child in the hot car and saw that the air conditioner was blowing warm air.
They revealed that the child said he was scared and hot, so they took him into the store.
When Martin returned to the vehicle, officers observed that her speech was stuttered and slurred.
They said the child had been in the car for 40 minutes, although Martin disputed that and claimed it had been less than ten minutes.
Martin was arrested, transported to the Putnam County Jail and held on a $500 bond.
Her husband bonded her out and the child was released into his care.
Police said the Florida Department of Children and Families has been contacted and is investigating the incident.

My mom used to do this all the time back in the 80s. Then one time I put the car In drive and that ended that shite.

Palatka is the armpit of Florida. Lots of Meth labs in that area.

So she was fricked up driving her kid around. Left her kid in the car with a broke arse A/C for at least 10 minutes in Florida. In July.

My dad had a standard. My idiot self thought I could play with it. Thankfully, my dad was watching my brother's basketball game through some windows, he turned and saw my dumb arse rolling into the street.

It's definitely as cracker as it gets in Florida's shaft. But there are a few panhandle towns that can compete.

I doubt that "Talisha" has a car with digital capability, but they may have been able to see the switch well enough to make that judgement call.
