I don’t like it. I end up slowing down inadvertently because I forget about that “feature” and it gradually slows me down enough I don’t notice for a while and then it hits me.
I did that at first, but I got used to it and remember to glance at my HUD if I’m behind someone for more than a minute or so.

I have a 24 telluride and I have gone through the manual and the steps online and it will not turn off. So I think they have disabled that feature. And I’m talking about being on the interstate using it and you are coming up on a slow driver and it slows you down or like mentioned above you get over and then it brake checks you instead of just letting you maneuver thru traffic.

luckily i turn off adaptive cruise on silverado 1500 but im 100% with you that it is way more trouble than its worth and makes no sense. just found out have button to turn off the crazy AFM feature that is one that really drove me crazy. my issues today is finding out this morning my 15 yr old chihuahua has an impacted and infected anal gland plus major dental issues at the moment. he is at vet to have his issues cleared up but not sure how much it is gonna cost me.

I'm on top of a mountain in N. Carolina sitting in a new house with 100 of surrounding acres and I can't get a text out. I have wifi for the Internet though. I think it's gonna be a great day.

I absolutely love self driving in the tesla. Hate it in town, but anything on interestate is the best. Just sit back and chill.

I can't remember the last time I used cruise control. Maybe three cars ago.

Smh. How can you not send it via WiFi? And you can turn on Internet calling for phone calls…
In regards to others about cruise control, I don’t see how anyone enjoys driving a set speed on the interstate for hours at a time without cruise control. “I love driving so much I love to just hold my foot on the pedal at exactly 80 for 5 straights hours” give me a break

As opposed to running into the back of them?

Decrease your follow distance to the minimum. It comes default set too conservatively.

From a quick google search:
To turn off Smart Cruise Control (also known as "Smart Cruise") on a 2024 Kia Telluride, simply press the "Driving Assist" button on the steering wheel; this will toggle the feature on and off.
This didn't work for you?

I agreed for a colleague to take me to lunch, but I don't want to go.

My wife's car has smart cruise. However, if you hold the on button for the cruise control for 2 seconds when turning it on it will revert to normal cruise control.
This is the way

I know how to turn it off. But you can’t turn on regular cruise control. It’s either adaptive or none at all

I know EV's are polarizing on the OT but Tesla's self-driving solves this problem. It slows downs, passes, accelerates just as you would. And it knows the left lane is for passing so it moves over after you pass someone. You can also set it to chill, normal or aggressive and it will drive that way accordingly. It's awesome.
Maybe Elon will eventually license it to the other manufacturers because it is light years ahead of everyone else.

Got a new car in Sept. to replace a 2010 model. culture shock.
immediately, driving home, had to figure out how to to turn off the lane correcting thing that kept turning the steering wheel. that was permanent
.
Unfortunately the smart cruise has to be turned off every time. (that setting is about 4 screens deep on the menu) It's so annoying for all of the above reasons.

The last 60 minutes of my to hour massage today was just brutal. I had to pee the entire time.

quote:Nah, it's fricking terrible. It imposes a regime of ridiculously far spacing on the interstate. I turn it off and just use regular cruise control (which, BTW, is vastly underused by the average driver).
If you're constantly speeding up and breaking, you're using it in situations it's not intended to be used for, like in city travel. It's not automated driving. It's intended to replace normal cruise control usage on highways/interstate. If you're still somehow constantly speeding up and breaking, I have no idea what you're doing.
I will never own another car that doesn't have adaptive cruise control, at a minimum. It's a complete deal breaker for me.

I have never used cruise control.... Hate it.

I'll gladly slow you down as you seem to think if you dont use cruise control, you have to drive slowly. Dumb people are fun to mess with.
Consider it my good deed for the day.

Cruise control is for Betas. I drive my car; I don't let it drive me...
Agreed.
And even worse than cruise control are cars that turn off when stopped at a traffic light.
That will wear out the starter far quicker than just leaving it on. And I cant remember the type of car but saw one that had the starter INSIDE the transmission bell housing. To replace the starter required dropping the transmission. Last starter I replaced on my truck took about 15 minutes and 3 wrenches.
That kind of design should be illegal.
