I agree with that but this needs to be addressed beyond this forum by all on here who has an interest.

We laugh at the metro council meetings and stream it live on here making fun of “Gravy” and “Helmet Head” and the likes but they are at the meeting swaying the votes in their favor while we are just typing.

This may come across the wrong way but do you really think the leadership of EBR gives a shite about what you or I have to say? Have you seen many of their meetings?

Other than railing about on ITEP, what exactly is the purpose of TBR?

I always assumed it was a bunch of socialists. I'm rather surprised to hear they are being backed by churches.

They're promoting social justice ideas in order to enact left wing/socialist political policies. I think some churches were duped into believing this group was here to push for unity and are finally realizing who's at the helm and what their true intentions are.

They are the local chapter of the Industrial Areas Foundation Started by Saul Alinsky, and take their marching orders from there. You’re right in thinking they are a bunch of socialists, but they aren’t a small local group.

I see. I guess that's where the churches thought this was for them, as many of them are certainly involved in a form of social justice (feeding the poor, helping the less fortunate, etc)

Exactly. I think some of these churches took the organization at face value and joined in hopes to serve the community. Pretty sure the guy that founded it is some rich left wing scumbag from NOLA

Yep. It's coming. Despite their name and the message they claim to promote, TBR is one of the most divisive organizations around. They are leading the fight against the St. George movement by spreading lies about "breaking away," all the while portraying citizens who support the St. George incorporation as racists.

I can understand the LSU ones since they cater to the hippie types and have to try to be "cool". But St. George being part of TBR is disgusting.

Eh, Catholic churches have always had a "justice" agenda (certainly not in the same sense of today's social justice) so it's not surprising they'd get naively sucked into something like this

No St. Jude
No St. Aloysius
No MBS
No Mercy
No St. Michael's

Why is St. George a member? I think I'll be pulling Fr. Mike aside after church this weekend to ask about this.

Is University Pres even a church? I had heard they had Progressed to some really hippy stuff that seemed unrecognizable.

One of the people in charge of TBR is a parishioner.

The only way to get them to stop supporting TBR is to speak up. That’s what the First United Methodist folks did. I’d also guess that St. George has more parishioners who are employed by ExxonMobil or a contractor than St. Alyouis, OLM, STM, or St. Jude

One person makes the decision for the entire church? I'm assuming many of the church parishioners are in favor of St. George. They know damn well that EBR schools need more money to achieve better results is a lie.

University Baptist is so liberal it might as well be Unitarian. I’m assuming University Presbyterian is similar.

St. Paul’s Lutheran is no surprise. Anyone read their church signs?

No excuse for St. George
