I am taking my family to Fayetteville for the LSU / Arkansas game on November 28th. I was seeking some tips on the best places to stay in that area? Any places to avoid? Anything worth doing while in Fayetteville other than attending the game? I appreciate any tips people can provide.

As long as your hotel has good reviews you should be fine. There are not really any overall bad areas but a low-end place could be sketch. Down the Bayou in Springdale is owned by some baws from LA if you need a home food fix.

I’ve live in the area 3 years. There aren’t any places I’d consider bad areas, although Springdale is probably a bit rundown compared to Fayetteville, Rogers, and Bentonville.

Definitely make it out to the art museum. Most of it is free so even if you only spend an hour there, it’s worth your time.

And I’ve found parking at Fayetteville High School for the games a good option, although the walk to the stadium is hilly and could be a bit tough for someone not in great physical condition.

Graduate Fayetteville was a good location

Stayed there in August and can easily walk to the downtown areas and plenty of places to eat all right there

I’d stay there again

Great town and fun area
If you have the time
Downtown Bentonville and Crystal Bridges Museum (free) are great
walkable attractions

The Graduate Hotel on a gameday weekend would be about
$750 a night min

Daughter just got in to Arkansas and I love that area. So many good day trips.

I love downtown Bentonville and Eureka Springs.

3 Must Eats in Fayetteville

1. Casa Alejo just expanded to Downtwon Fayetteville. Great mexican
2. Hugo's across from Casa Alejo- Excellent burgers/sandwiches
3. Wright's BBQ in Johnson

1 and 2 are walking distance to The Graduate. Like, 30 second walk.

You could also walk to the game from the hotel. A decent trek but parking on gameday really sucks and ubering doesn't get ya that much closer.

Grab something to eat at Braums near the campus. Love that chain. Easy walkable from the hotels on the edge of.campus to downtown. Always felt safe in our many trips there. It is hilly though.

I'll second Hugo's down by the square off Dickson St. It is a great spot that's been there since the 70s. Solid bourbon selection in there too. I try and slip in there anytime I'm in Northwest Arkansas.

I graduated High School with the guy that owns "Down the Bayou" and his food is legit. He's from Larose and graduated from South Lafourche ... as authentic as it gets.

That may be true. I haven't been there in several years.

Braum's is amazing.

The milk, ice cream and egg nog are all really good as well.

Very interesting story as well if you have the time to read up on the history.

Every time I go to Waxahachie, I eat there and every time I go to Broken Bow Oklahoma I drive down to Idabel and eat there and anytime I go to Fayetteville I go and eat there. Always bring back milk.
