I feel for the OP. He's not getting anything out of it, and having to go out of pocket to boot.

Sounds terribly familiar.

If the flights are $300, they may be traveling without spouses.

Being a groomsman taught me how to work for something. $200 for a tux equals plenty of opportunities for pussy appointments.

Also where else would I get flasks or pocket knives

The first time I regretted it is about 10 minutes ago at the fitting and that was frustrating with the shirt. They kept telling me “so sorry(Chinese girl) but this is the longest shirt we have. You will just have to deal with it” this shirt is so short on me I can barely move before it becomes untucked.

I once complained to Men's Warehouse about the shirt being wrinkled. Their reply:

"Just tumble it in the dryer."

You’re not really understanding the true reason of being a groomsman, mate.

Although, I did the same thing for my bros wedding. Smashed one of the bridesmaids too.

I would just wear the short shirt to be a dick.

Last one I was in I got to walk with little sister. Nothing hotter than little sister at big sisters wedding. Our honeymoon lasted 3 months.

She has nine kids now. Yes-nine.

What a selfish prick. It’s not about you. Taking one day out of your life to show support to someone who obviously thought enough of you to ask you to stand in his wedding..

$200 tuxedo rental

By far the most legitimate gripe.

Everyone wears a black tux, plain and simple. If you don't have one, buy one. Renting prom suits for one night so we can all be in gray/blue/khaki/etc is so dumb.

There's clearly a flip side to that but I'm too lazy to explain it

So the flight cost is really not relevant because you would be obliged to go whether a groomsman or not if it is that close of a friend

I’ve never done it but I’ll love it when I do. I was the first of my friends to get married.

Have plenty of friends. Just politely decline if asked. True freinds don't demand you use vacation time, and spend over a thousand bucks for their wedding.
