How did y'alls first semester go ?
From the night I moved in, until Labor Day, I was drunk more nights than I wasn't, yet I'm not sure I paid for a single drink during that time. Met a TON of people.
After Labor Day, settled into a routine. Monday night through Wed night, stayed in the room and mostly studied. Thurs night, if I had a test Friday, I stayed in, if I didn't have a test, I got wild.
Fridays were a blur. Gameday Saturdays were a blur, Saturdays with no home game, I went home. Sundays I detoxed. Ended with a 3.6.
Second semester, I thought I had my shite all together, partied a lot more, 2.6. After that, stayed above 3 the rest of the time.
Oh, and I changed majors 3 times. Very few 18 year olds know what they want to do. Heck, most 23 year olds don't know.

3.5 and barely tried. LSU was way easier than high school for me.
eta: major was "undecided" because I had no idea what I wanted to do at 18 years old. So took mostly general easy classes.

Made a 4.0, and yes I partied.
Key is go to class and review your notes for just 30 min a day. Skipping class and then trying to cram is what screws people.

Curriculum wise, it was for me too.
However, I struggled with the self-discipline of actually attending class and studying. And being almost 1000 miles away from my parents made it relatively easy to get away with.

You joined TD when you were 15-16 years old?
WTF. You should be the smartest dude on campus banging a different hottie each day if you have used your time wisely here.

Damn. That happened to me second semester of college lol. It just so happened to be Saints playoffs, Superbowl, and Mardi Gras all in order with no break. I also blame it on working at Reggie's. Looking at my post TOPS student loans, I would go back and just go to class in a heartbeat.

0.4ish gpa. 3.7 second semester. don't let school get in the way of enjoying your 1st semester in college, it's life changing

One thing you need to learn is that until you have 500 posts stop making stupid topics.
Now write that on the chalk board 100 times

I changed majors at the end of the first semester.
My grades were fine, but I had a shitty roommate, and I struggled to get enough sleep.

Got drunk the first half on the fraternity's dime during rush, got my nuts hazed off the second half to pay back for the booze. Had a blast though, and somehow got decent grades.
My major was of little concern my freshman year. Think I only took Business Calculus that went directly towards my major.

Was not ready/mature enough ...prolly should have enlisted first, like my old man suggested.

It went ok. Thanks for asking! It is the 3rd junior year that is rough.

It was easy compared to high school. I was in business and loved college because I didn't have to deal with the science classes I hated in high school.
Made a 3.8. Was my worst semester GPA until grad school.
As others have said, key is to go to class and review for each class about 30 minutes a day.
People get suckered in because they spend way less time in class versus high school, so the structure goes away. Keep structure and you'll be fine.
