Gotta appease the tree hugging crowd

That hideous blue is not doing it any favors. And if I wanted a 4 cylinder hybrid I would drive a RAV 4.

So the new 4Runner will be smaller and the new Landcruiser will take the old 4Runner's place?

Why would it? My 2010 4 runner did not have one.

I’d rather just import an old JDM land cruiser with the steering wheel on the wrong side.

If you want a 4runner, snag the outgoing one. I've been tempted to but my Tacoma is pretty new.
It is the last of a breed. Fairly large unstressed naturally aspirated V6, a 4 (or 5?) speed transmission that's very durable.
These things will go 300k and beyond with proper maintenance.
A turbo 4 with a 10 speed transmission? Probably not.

09 had a trail model with locker. I think that model with V8 was the lowest production run of any 4runner. '18 ORP here, waiting for a respectable carplay head unit to appear. I won't trade newer for one feature I want and a dozen features I don't want.

1973 Ford Maverick and 1984 Chevrolet Suburban both came in that hideous smurf blue color.
Even my mom's RAV 4 hybrid is a 6 cylinder (granted not turbo).
We went to buy a V8 Forerunner and got the GX460 V8 4WD instead.

LUS 282

One seems to be running with the notion it may be the reveal date: “Could it mean Lands in US in 282 days? = Jan 4, 2025 release date?!”
quote:
“Considering current horsepower is 270, 282 is probably horsepower.” That makes more sense, especially since the new Tacoma boasts 278 hp. Only time will tell.

That'll be putting out more horsepower and torque than the 2000's v8's. .
I wouldn't buy one, just saying it'll probably still be a good motor regardless.

The new LC is a bit bigger than the 4Runner. A good bit wider also. The differences between the 4Runner, LC, and GX will be more about levels, pkgs, and price.

I'm going to order one.
Hopefully my rooftop tent, hilift jack mount, sand tracks, snorkel, outdoor shower, sliding kitchen, propane tanks and jerrycan mounts will transfer over.
