We'd just kick them out of our platoon and make them analysts. Not exactly sure how the grunts do it, to be honest. I'd guess they just frick them up until they're in shape.

It depends on what you mean by terrible shape. If you mean they are overweight but could still pass their PT test. Then nothing really happened. If they were in weight regulations and couldn't pass the PT test then they had to do PT at the end of the day. If they were overweight and couldn't pass the PT test, then whole god damned world would come down on them. My unit would actually put you on extra duty and make you do physical labor until about 1800 give you an MRE then your arse would be at the PT field at 1830 and then would finally would be dismissed around 2000.
Basically it was like this. If you were overweight you better pass your PT test. If you couldn't pass your PT test you better be underweight. If you failed both you were looked at like the biggest shitbag in the unit. And being underweight and failing the PT test was viewed worse then being overweight and passing.

What amazed me at my unit was the big guys always had the best run times.

That's why Trump has to leave the policy in place for now so he can collect data. If it's an unequivocal failure, then it would be Dems that suffer for advocating it.
