1/8 in Lejeune

quote:

The Marine Corps will make history on Thursday when the first three female infantry Marines join their unit at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, officials said.

The women are headed to 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, where they will serve in the following infantry military occupational specialties: rifleman, machine gunner and mortar Marine, said 1st Lt. John McCombs, a spokesman for II Marine Expeditionary Force.

quote:

All three of the infantry Marines graduated from the School of Infantry as part of the service’s gender integration research, said Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Philip Kulczewski.

“The Corps applauds the time and efforts of those Marines who volunteered,” Kulczewski said. “As we continue to move forward, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure that the men and women who earn the title ‘Marine’ will be ready, and will provide America with an elite crisis-response force that is ready to fight and win.”

Gonna be hard to respond to crisis and be ready when a shitload of them are pregnant and a shitload of male Marines are in trouble due to "sexual harassment/assault."

quote:

In March, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter approved the Marine Corps’ plan to allow women to join military occupational specialties that had been restricted to men only. Carter had refused an earlier request by the Corps to keep women out of combat jobs after the service’s gender integration study found that mixed-gender teams did not perform as well as all-male teams and that female Marines were more likely to get injured.

Lmao, cause frick the experts, they don't know what they're talking about.

quote:

It is unclear whether President-elect Donald Trump will pursue gender integration in the military with the same vigor as the Obama administration. Retired Marine Gen. James Mattis, Trump’s nominee for defense secretary, told Military Times in September that “shortsighted social programs” could make the U.S. military less effective.

Gen. Mattis throwing haymakers.

Seriously, frick this PC bullshite.

I've got a feeling this won't last long.

I'm not going to give an opinion on the effectiveness of gender integrated units becasue I have no idea. I will say that if women want equality then they should have every right to fight ane die in battle as I do. Also war is changing. The physical difference between men and women may not mean as much as it once did.

I can't help but think of the first women marines to fall into Islamic extremist hands. This just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

It most certainly does on the battlefield dumbass.

Answer this. If you were going it combat, would you prefer to be in a coed unit, or and all male unit?

New technology is being developed to make the physical toll easier on soldiers. So in the future the gap bewteen women and men might be closer. As it stands right now, give me a guy who I know can have my back. But it could change later.

Dumbass.

I'll give you a pretty huge hint and say there's still a pretty big fricking difference.

Well you shouldn't give an opinion of the effectiveness of gender integrated units, the experts already did. Especially after they saw it firsthand. Sure they should have the right to fight and die for this country, but they shouldn't have the right to endanger their fellow Marines by being there. They can't carry as much weight, their bones are far more brittle than men's so their bones will break easier. Don't even get me started on them having periods, that's another can of worms. Couple that with the fact that they can get pregnant and be out of action for pretty much a year out of their contract and you've got a huge shitstorm on your hands.

The physical difference between men and women still means A LOT in combat. You might think that combat is some high tech CoD type shite, but it ain't. Combat is still very barbaric and nowhere near as much has changed as you think.

But there is still a physical toll. Which will inherently favor males over females.

Where did you mention the future in your ridiculous statement?

Just stop Mr. White Knight. You've already made a fool of yourself enough, now you're calling out a combat vet and telling him you know better.

Dude, you're so fricking wrong on this. Combat loads now are just as, if not, heavier than they were in previous generations. You've got to strap ~30lbs on for a plate carrier with plates. Then you've got ~60-90 extra pounds of shite in your pack just to get to where you're going. Plus the weight of M16/M4. Then, if they're gonna be a machine gunner or mortarman you've got even more weight to carry from the weapon system itself, plus rounds. All the while you're carrying as many rounds as you can for you M16/M4, which adds up more than you might think.

So at any given point you could be going into combat with 100lbs+ that you're carrying.

Let me correct myself, that is if you're carrying your main pack. If you're going on a patrol you're carrying your assault pack, so take off about 20-30lbs from that 100lbs+ total and that's what they'd be carrying.

My point still stands, you don't have the first clue of what you're talking about.

As a former combat Marine and contractor, these broads will only be dead weight and of no net gain. This shite is getting ridiculous.

Yes I'm well aware of all that. What part of "future" do y'all not understand?
