It's not just that study. We literally have the entire history of the human race to look back upon to see that this will end in failure.

That's correct. However, it's not brought forward. See my video link in a prior post to GEN Barrow's testimony. Compelling but no data. They must harvest data from the specific policy changes and personnel moves that have taken place in Obama's tenure.

The dems will just reject it again.

Absolutely. But they are going to pay a steep price in trying to reject data about their own failures that will be fresh in everyone's mind. Studies from decades ago are easily dismissed. Studies from just a couple years / months ago, not so much, especially when tied to their last WH occupant.

The longer a government policy or program is in place the less like,y it is to be undone. Do it now before it's irreversible.

True. However, this must be looked at like the difference between defeat and destroy.
Roll it back now, it is defeated but capable of reconstituting and coming back later.
Produce the data and the accompanying argument it supports and you destroy it forever.

The best way to collect this data is to allow them to go into combat. You down to go into another war to try and see how the policy works in realtime? Or are you down to take the experts' words to heart and just stay away from it completely?

There is empirical data every where you look.

Sorry, but I'm not risking the life of some mother's son to see how physically inferior soldiers act in combat.

Exactly. There's no reason to leave this bullshite in place just so we can blame it on the Democrats in a few years.

Or some son's mother, or some father's daughter.

Progressives want to act like they're enlightened and civilized and then want to send little girls to war. I can think of nothing more barbaric or uncivilized. It's disgusting.

Yeah, Mabus ordered an entire study but the results didn't come out how he wanted so he said the study was bullshite and went ahead with his plans.

Mabus is precisely the type that GEN Barrow referred to in his remarks.
Career politician.
Especially disconcerting about him is that he was Ambassador to Saudi Arabia during the Clinton administration, and has been SecNav since 2009 - the Clinton / Obama / Saudi nexus has done nothing for the US.
He is yet another DC player that spent time at Harvard. He's been on the Council on Foreign Relations and RAND's Mid East policy board. I'm sure his financial ties would be very interesting to look at.
In short, he is put in places were he can facilitate the agenda of others. And that is exactly what he's done as SecNav.

And we're not even talking about the immense emotional stress that they would be under in combat.

Disagree. Combat is not monitored or controlled. Training and garrison life is - and that is where you get your data. Look at the video from Zoe Bedell. She says "we wore the same gear". That is patently false. But it gets a pass because it's combat. Trump must order scrupulous data collection from all integrated units and at least a large random sample of those that are not, and better still would be service-wide. It must be cohort, life cycle data.

We both know how this ends up: if bad things happen, they will be dismissed as "fog of war". Also, data about pregnancy, sexual harassment, morale, etc will be turned and used to blame men. We need hard, performance data.

quote:

Or are you down to take the experts' words to heart and just stay away from it completely?

Another item I alluded to earlier. Who are the experts? It is a logical fallacy to appeal to expertise partly because it may not be concretely relevant, and particularly in this environment it may be contaminated. You say "expert" and Mabus says "Secretary of Navy". Who wins that argument? Who gets the title "expert" - ostensibly Mabus was put there because he's best equipped to make such decisions. By default he gets to claim expert here. Again, this is why data must be collected. It must be transparent, thorough, and conclusions must be clearly obvious to anyone. If you don't go down this road then you end up in a battle of rhetoric, and political whim within the Executive will win out.

I know what data is out there, I own books on this, and I have my experiences. It's simply foolish to think these items are sufficient. They have failed thus far. If we are to settle this issue we must get the data in such a manner that conclusions are fair, objective, and undeniably evident.

Is this where I can say Ray Mabus is a goddamned disgrace to the great state of Mississippi who deserves to be publicly castrated, tarred and feathered, and deported to Iran?

We've already got performance data. And the data showed that females should not be in combat. This isn't some chauvinistic stance I'm taking, this is based on facts alone. If they could perform up to the standards that the Marines uphold then I'd be all for them. But they can't, they've been studying this shite since the 90's. I'll watch your videos you talk about when I've got some time later, but I highly doubt they'll change my mind.

Preaching to the choir, man. Thread is 15 pages. I have books on this stuff.

I'll say it again: must bring forth data derived specifically from Obama's tenure and combine it with other data. Must be cohort, life cycle data, must be fair, objective, thorough, and provide undeniable conclusions that anyone can see without having to be cajoled by some politician.

The incoming Secretary of Defense, who can literally open up his door to his office and yell to his secretary "Hey, call all the service chiefs and let them know I'm banning women in combat arms." That's literally all it would take.

And all of that data is out there. We have about 40 years worth of data on women in uniform. There is zero doubt that they've been a failure in even the support jobs. Not sure why anyone would think they'd be successful in the combat arms.

Not from the latest moves we don't. As I said above: preaching to the choir with this stuff. Trust me, I'm not casting stones your way at all. The data does not support these politically based policy changes.

If you want maximum effect here you have to take data that is resultant from Obama's and his appointees' decisions. Mabus ignored the other data, so now anything that is collected is directly tied to his decision making. That's very important going forward.

Of course and I would never suggest otherwise. What person would not want additional combat power with them on the battlefield? It's a moral stance that should be drummed loudly, over and over again. This is not about being anti-woman, it's about winning wars. Like they say, if you find yourself in a fair fight then your tactics suck. We want all the advantages. If a woman is an advantage then suit her up immediately. If she's not then what are we doing? If she happens to be a disadvantage then we have a moral imperative to remove her. The Dem morality baiting and so forth works to their disadvantage here and it should be seized upon.

I'll watch your videos you talk about when I've got some time later, but I highly doubt they'll change my mind.

Not trying to change your mind here except with regard to how we proceed. You will find compelling statements from GEN Barrow. But they need data appended to them. You find some horseshite form Zoe Bedell and it needs to be exposed. If you do look at her video, compare the photos of her FETs to what you wear and what other Marines are wearing. I bet you can spot 15lbs or more of kit they are not wearing. That gets glossed over because it's combat. In training and garrison life it can be controlled and documented.

RGR ALL

But it's about defeat v destroy. That's my central theme here.

You shouldn't. Their performance is irrelevant. It's a waste of time and money. Anywhere females go in the military their presence causes problems. At any one time over 10% of Women in the military, and that's a very conservative estimate, is unfit for duty due to pregnancy. When over 10% of an entire demographic is unable to do their job then it's time to cut the entire demographic loose of nothing else than financial responsibility.
