Remember when integrated units were thought to be inferior?
When the army favored horses over tanks ?
When the Navy thought planes were only good as spotters for battleships ?
Remember that people hate change and often pile up evidence to support their pre conceived conclusions ?

Only 10%. That's actually lower then what I thought it would be. My army unit had 6 of them drop out of our deployment to Iraq. 6 outta 9.
I believe the stat was actually for "unplanned" pregnancies so it's probably more. And of course DOD has every reason to suppress any data that shows women aren't compatible with military service.

Yes family shite.......

Also war is changing. The physical difference between men and women may not mean as much as it once did.
Ever think about how hard it is to pull a 180-200lb male with an additional 70-100lbs of gear on out of an MRAP or Humvee after it was hit by an ied?

So you think Mad Dog will stop any of this shite?

because a lot of good female soldiers are out there.

Those are examples of technological advancement. If you have evidence that women have evolved to be as physically capable and durable as men, present it.

New technology is being developed to make the physical toll easier on soldiers.
New technology? Please explain.

How is that any different now when female service women are pregnant or raped. Sounds like excuses to me.

I have my fingers crossed but my hopes aren't high. Removing females from the combat arms would cost a lot of political capital and I don't know if Trump cares enough about this issue to do that. But then again Trump doesn't seem to GAF so who knows.

Question:
Can they even get through the physical requirements of boot camp and training? I know nothing about it, but I feel like there are physical "tests" they would fail. Don't you have to swim with like a 45 lb ruck for like a hour?

I think he can stop us from going backward, at least. The rest will work itself out from there.

The physical requirements at recruit training aren't that difficult. Even at SOI, they're still not anything impossible, even for women. Their difficulty will begin when they get to their units and are expected to do realistic physical activity on a near daily basis for years. Then there is actual combat, where they will be a burden.

Yeah, except those all have to do with technology, not human beings. Also, the people that gave these tests were the ones who said they shouldn't be involved in the combat arms. Not just us on a message board.

They still don't take the same PT test that men do.
Posted on 1/7/17 at 8:58 am to DisplacedBuckeye
Can they be removed if they can't do those physical activities with their unit?
Say a guy is in terrible shape and can't do everything expected. What would happen?
