Centurion mk.5/1 of the C Squadron, 1st Armoured Regiment, Royal Australian Armored Corps, Phuoc Tuy Province of Vietnam ca. 1970.

I was able to emulate the rice paddy mud of South Vietnam using Ammo by Mig's Vietnam Earth pigment media. Vehicle was finished with Mr Color,Tamiya and AK Real Color products along with Tamiya weathering powders.

Excellent witk, Choppa. I particularly like the red mud weathering be used that’s exactly what you’d find on a tank operating in Vietnam.

A funny side note about British tanks, they all come with built-in tea kettles so the crew can have their daily afternoon tea like proper Englishmen.

Acktually it had a Rolls Royce Meteor which was derived from the Rolls Royce Merlin aircraft engine(spifire,hurricane,lancaster,mosquito) which was pretty dependable and reliable. Might have been one of the only English tank engines worth a shite up until the modern Crusader.

That's the decals that came with the kit. Other choices were I kid you not were: Clitoris, Mons Venus, and Pussy Eater. Those wacky Aussies.

We used an engine in some Shermans that was originally designed for airplanes as well.

When you say expanded metal, are you talking about the turret bustle or basket on the back of the turret ? If so, yes it was part of the kit. The only pieces that I added to this kit were a Jerry can,some duffel bags/Alice packs and some tarps.

Speaking of adding things like tarps, have you ever seen medical gauze for camo netting? I’ve never done it personally, but it looks quite simple. First you take regular gauze, paint it green, then dip it in Elmer’s glue, and set it on the model wherever you like. It looks like this…
