I live in a very shitty place. Arguably a place shittier than Memphis.
My point still stands, which really had nothing necessarily to do with Memphis or where I live.

Well yea I agree with that, but there’s a chance I’ll get moved there for work for a couple years. Wondering if it’s worth the career progression hit if I tell em I’m not going to memphis.

We live in BR. It's probably worse than Memphis when considering employment opportunities. I still don't want to move to Memphis though. The Ozarks is a massive upgrade imo.

I'll be moving to that area pretty soon. Actually to Memphis' poorer, more ghetto, retarded Arkansas cousin called West Memphis.

NW Arkansas is a beautiful place.
There are several places in the United States that are wonderful places.
The challenge is to keep NW Ark from becoming another Memphis, Jackson, NOLA, Chicago, Baltimore, Philly, or my home, Beirut Rouge.

Had to go to Memphis several times to see an eye specialist. First trip was OK - did the tourist stuff. Subsequent trips were pretty meh. And you could hear the drag racing going on from the hotel.
I guess it's kind of nice that they have a minor league ballpark right there in the city, but other than that, not much going on.

You’re right with all of this, but those suburbs become a lot less redeeming when you’ve got no tie there. It’s also the hottest and coldest place I’ve lived.
On the other hand I do miss food truck wednesdays at Ms Cordelia’s on the island.
I do not miss getting asked for money every motherfricking time I get gas.

The burbs, desoto county and west Memphis all suck. Inside the loop is the place to be. Lot of great hoods in east Memphis. Just gotta keep your head on a swivel!
