Congratulations sir!
We were there from 2015-19, and other than a few life milestones, hated every day of it.

I lived in Memphis for 2 years. Leaving Memphis is a great idea, but if you can live anywhere, the ozarks are nice but the bottom of the list.

Grow an imagination and spread your wings. Find a true destination…you only live once right…

First off, there's nothing wrong with the Ozarks if you like that sort of thing.

Perhaps he has relatives that he would like to be able to drive to see or some other reason for not moving 1000 miles away.

There are broad classes of places that don't have objective differences in their desirability but personal preferences sort them out for people.

It also helps to have a good job waiting on you.

Welcome to the Ozarks, but stay away from Fayetteville.

Exactly.

Find your place that energizes you and people who you like to be around.

I find myself in a rural town on the outskirts of Nashville and that taste has me and Mrs cad wanting to move further out on more land.

Lived in Memphis for 7 years. I kept trying to convince myself it isn’t thaaaaat bad. It is, it is that bad. Headed to the Ozarks for a much better job and lifestyle.

Went to some friends' weekend place just outside Hardy, AR over the Memorial Day weekend (right on the Spring River), I can see the attraction.

That said, we have a place in Germantown and fricking love that area (wouldn't want to live in Memphis though).

Fayetteville is a city with crime rates that exceed national averages in many categories.

I lived in Memphis during the 80s and it was actually a nice city back then. Sure there were crime issues in the bad areas of the city but where I lived was a great suburb (Bartlett)

I haven’t been back since moving from there but I did check out the area where I lived on google maps and the area still looked nice.

If you have to live “deep in the burbs” for a place not to suck, then it still sucks.

3 of the top 10 school districts in the state are burbs of Memphis...cops in burbs don't play...have access to the good parts of the city with a 20 minute drive

No more wall to wall broadcasts of tornados from the folks at Channel 5, 3 and 24 for you!

Is Dave Brown still on the tube there? Darrell Green and Joe Burch and of course the overly dramatic guy on Channel 3?

Cities interest me less and less these days. I don't necessarily want to drive an hour to the grocery store but I'm fine not living around a bunch of other people

Is Graceland still somewhat safe? I’ve never been but always wanted to see it.

It’s always a great idea if you can leave one of these ghetto hell hole cities
