Cultures have always borrowed from each other. It's what has made humanity so great.
This current line of thinking that only certain things are for certain cultures is wrong.
Additionally, many things associated with specific cultures did not necessarily originate with them. For example, I've seen dreadlocks on white people used as an example of cultural appropriation, however, there are paintings and statues from ancient Greece depicting their people with dreads.

The problem is that you have groups of people who don't know anything of history or even cultures that are dictating these new social rules and telling us about history and culture.
