After a massive surge in sign-ups after Twitter had censored and suspended everyone from meme-makers to the President himself, the free speech social media platform known as “Parler” hit number one on the Apple App store’s News section.

FWIW, it works similar to twitter. You don't have to provide your real identity to be a contributor. Corporate representatives, politicians, or celebrities can share their a photo ID to verify their account, but that isn't required.

I'm sure it will be removed from the App store shortly since this basically threatens the market dominance for censorship-friendly "platforms" like twitter or facebook....

I started a new account but I haven't really gotten around to following anyone but NASA. Works very well.

I just joined. I hope this gains traction. I only have FB for family and I can't wait to ditch it.

I signed up but didn't download the app. I put my email in and set up a password and all the standard stuff, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change my username. It just stuck me with what precedes @gmail.com as my username and there's nowhere on the website to change it.

I swear I'm younger than 60 and can navigate a computer and just about any other device, but I cannot figure this out. I spent ten mins looking around to figure it out and gave up.

How about just get off the ones you have now and just not use them?

It’s a shame that a internet service has to inflict its political views into its platform.
Especially when these are the types that really believe in the First Amendment

Signed up the other day. Really liking it so far.

However, I expect the thought police will be here shortly to tell everyone why not to sign up to a free speech site.

Once you download the app, you can change your username in account settings.

Will be awesome when we find out who or what is truly behind it.

“These are the types that really believe in the First Amendment”? For the love of all that’s good please explain what in the hell gives you the idea that leftist progressives believe in any part of the Constitution, especially the First Amendment. Give us one example.

Probably right after we find out the same about Twitter.

Dear racists, just because it's free speech, doesn't mean you can use the N word,

You mean when people are allowed to speak and not have corporate censorship, they tend to be right leaning? Interdasting.

Is it a Louisiana centric message board? If this board was based in San Francisco it’d be different.

Wow.

He basically said Parler would be right leaning like TigerDroppings because BOTH have an overall lack of censorship.

Critical thinking has never been your forte though.

I posted this an hour and a half ago. I notice four progressives have downvoted my post yet none of them could answer my post. That’s telling.

nobody is saying that they will use the N word like the rappers do. but nobody should be kicked off of social media just because you say that you back President Trump.
