I’ve said for a long time that towns under a certain population shouldn’t be allowed to form police departments. The parish sheriff’s office would have jurisdiction. This would kill all these small traps.

Couldn’t take his eyes off his phone long enough to realize he was in the left lane.

In Bastrop they will pull you over even if you aren't speeding. State trooper told me to just keep on driving that nobody outside of Bastrop would pull you over for not stopping and the Bastrop won't leave their very little section of highway.

In 2009, the Legislature passed a law that directs into state coffers any fines local officers impose on drivers traveling at 10 mph or less than the posted speed limit on interstate highways.

This was designed to take out Washington's I-49 speed trap racket. Raising the speed limit to 75 through there was the kill shot. I never see cops there anymore.

Fenton’s court records paint a picture of a justice system in which some people are punished for how they act while others are rewarded for who they know.

Dry Prong got me twice in the early 2000’s. I don’t if that old guy is still there. He was the worst.

A few years ago, I had a very successful day and was feeling full of myself.

I had "Mustang Sally" cranked up on my tape player and was in the zone when all of a sudden there were more blue lights than I'd ever seen behind me.

My successful day cost me well over a hundred bucks.

About a year ago, I forgot where I was and got nailed again just as I crossed over the line on 30.

CAF is a license for cowardly, badge-wearing thugs to steal.

Anyone that thinks differently is a complete idiot.

I would love to see what the numbers are for Woodworth. With apps such as Waze, etc the majority of non-local know to slow down as they pass thru this two horse hole in the road, so the biggy now is to pull you over for changing lanes without using a signal, changing lanes too close to a traffic light, light out on paw paws trailer or safety chains are connected. Mayor DB and his Barney's have taken advantage of way too many, too many.

They got me on my way to an LSU game early at 5am in the morning. Didn't see the speed limit reduction and popped me for exactly 10mph over. It's definitely an operation. Officer was sitting in a parking lot built exactly for that reason. Con artists

They probably have an agreement with the casino to leave the busses alone.

Nope, has to be 10mph or more for them to get any $$.

This only covers the interstate. Every municipality up and down I49 made sure that their town included a piece of the interstate. Sometimes it’s only a 1 mile length. They would then use that 1 mile for speed traps to finance the town. The legislature finally passed the law that anything under 10MPH belongs to the state. But if you are pulled over anywhere else in town that money goes to the town.
