I’ve worked with four female operators. Two were pretty good, one was absolutely useless, the other is a huge whore but she does her job

Lots of female operators here. There is a push for more diversity so she has a very good chance of getting hired by a plant. If she does her job and fits in she will be successful but if she comes in wanting the men to help her do everything she'll have a hard time......unless she is somewhat hot.![]()
Spot on. And, in my experience, the ones who take their job seriously generally end up being very good at their job. If they're more lax about it, they seem to fall behind almost like it is just not as intuitive to them as it is to many of the guys.

Every woman Operator I know is worthless. Their lazy and will always find an excuse to pawn off work to someone else.

What exactly does a process operator do? Is this manual or womanual labor or do they monitor a bunch of gauges and control panels?
Assume these are well paying jobs?

If the job was easy, women and children could do it. So is the job an easy one? If so, then she probably could do it.

If you can cook gumbo at 3 in the morning, you can be a process operator

Bet she’s “Plant Fine!”
That's frickin funny and way too many of us get it.
When them OT7 female valve/filter/pump/plc vendors would come in to do a lunch and learn,
them ole dudes would be like "No man. I tell ya She was FINE FINE."

most plants pay "operators" in the $25-$30 an hour range
$$$$ makes the job popular
plus many women in plants flirt with bosses so they hardly have to do any work at all anyway and are hired as diversity tokens

So if things don't work out with the LSU coaching gig then Coach O has a fall back plan?

$25 an hour is start these days. Top out is around $40-$45 depending on the company.

I keep an eye out for the few fine Hispanic chicks that work insulation.
We had one on the job in Geismar last year that was a legit OT 8.

I know who you’re talking about.
Posted on 1/30/18 at 7:57 pm to LSUFanHouston
We have 3 at our plant, 1 is very good, 1 average and the other is worthless so pretty much in line with the men.

Add another $10-15 an hour and that’s more realistic.

Every one that I have worked with are absolutely worthless. Can't do the job physically. One day, females might finally get that some jobs are not made for them and their weaker physical bodies. Diversity is going to be the end of us all.

Have a few at my plant and 2 of them are AA women that waited less than an hr to be hired. Women don’t make great operators from my experience. Everyone walks on eggshells around them, and the PTL has a hard time telling them to do something. Leads to more work and lower moral for the team.

Yea i was like wtf? only people I know at 25/30 are at the plants that start you at 25 and give you 3-5 dollar raises every year until you reach top pay after like 5 years.

As for the original question, I see two kinds of female operators in all the plants I am in.
1) they are bad arse, take the job really serious and tend to move up very quickly, especially those that are decent looking.
2) not worth a shite and are looking for the men to help them anytime they can.
I hardly ever see any that in between that range. Either great or dog shite.
